s.o.g from seed?

Hi everyone! can you do a sog from seed with good results, i would be looking to veg for a couple of weeks then flower. I know clones is what its supposed to be but i need to get a grow in asap and dont have time for a mum yet. I was also thinking as they will be from seed they wont all be the same height ive read so...... i was thinking of topping them to the same height a couple of weeks before flower?

any advice on this would be great. + rep!

my setup would be
600w hps cool tube
6 inch fan extraction
grow box 3f w 5ft l and 3ft h
thinkin 20 plants

just try 12/12 from seed.

when i did 12/12 from seed i used a small 24w t5 for around 14days until it had 3 nodes.

Then it went under my 600w hps .

At day 21 nodes began to alternate and pistils appeared.

i experimented with the medium , used clay pebbles and rockwool. Plant finished at 15inches tall.

I would research other peoples grows. It seems to be hit or miss. I think Northern lights might be one of the better strains to do... Your strain is the number one issue imo.

I will be going for soil and 1 gal pots unless anyone recommends any different, j-mon what results did you get from your 12 12 from seed and how many plants?

Have you thought about investing in a 10 pack of a ruderalis type of plants so you're able to produce a small sog of an auto-flowering strain to get yourself going? You can do this at the same time you purchase another strain so you're able to strategically select a Mom plant from strain #2 for future SOG grows?

See that's the thing. Even if you do 12/12 from seed the plant still spends time vegging itself to proper maturity. I would just veg it for 2 weeks at least, and then switch to 12/12

You can't really do a SOG from seed because as you mentioned, the plants will be very different in most cases. Growing from clone will give you a homogenous crop which will also give you the best yeild. The only other option would be to plant seeds of a similar strain or a very stable strain and plant them at different intervals so you have plants ready to flower as soon as you harvest, but you really don't need that much extra time to have a mother(s) capable of producing enough clones to run a true SOG.

Ended up ~3' mostly cola which is what you want SOG style. Cept for the squat one they fit into their pots profile and those are only 1 gals.

But what if i was to veg for 2-4 weeks, top all the plants to the same height then flower?

anyone else done sog from seed?

I'm looking to do sog from seed though ive had a pack of mixed skunk seeds for some time now and after reading up i don't think i should use em for sog. i have a 1.2mx1.2mx2m tent and 18 indoor mixed skunk seeds all fem.
I was planning on just veg 2 weeks
flower and prune any branch unworthy of keeping.
wonder how long it would take to sog? and if it can be done from mixed seeds.
i hear auto fem strains are really good for a quick harvest using sog method.
