You’re fortunate to be in San Diego! It’s one of those places that seems to agree with most plants. You can see a house with tropical palms next to a house with desert landscaping next to a house with that really cool Japanese lawn grass that grows in little hills. My aunt does orchids outdoors grown out of cholla cactus skeletons I gather for her here in AZ. Mix up your soil and rock that shit homie, rock that shit!
Any pics of the cholla with orchids. Sounds rad

If you are a good grower it will smell a city block away, you will have thieves, if you manage to conquer the pests, mildew, mold, nutritional issues, etc. An unfriendly neighbor may call the hero murderers, the police.

Well it’s legal here so the popo can suck it. Security is my top concern. I’m sure the neighbors are growing as well and it’s a mature neighborhood. Most home owners with long lots.

I figure if I can keep them squat and out of sight. Well you’ll have to work a bit harder to find it let alone steal anything.

The rest of the nutrients and pest management will be handled in my growing technique. I’m not really concerned for any of those thing as I am a urban farmer and have a plan.

We are in zone 10A. You don't need a greenhouse. We get plenty of light and you shouldn't have a problem

Got couple of wedding cake clones that I put straight into flowering on my side yard. They’re doing great with very little effort on my part. I am in no way an expert, we are just lucky to live and grow here
