Old thread but I popped my last two seeds of jackberry x ko kush one of them got heat stress and dies after a transplant and the other is about 3 days in flower now I was really lucky to get another female since they were regular seeds. I mothered it out and have 6 clones I plan on growing dwc in a new tent. Anyone else grow this lately probably one of the best strains I have smoked high wise also bag appeal is a plus. Hope this is another colorfull pheno if not the green pheno was very kush like with a strong high after a long cure.

I probably still have some of these freebie beans kicking around somewhere; one of these days I'll crack them.

The jackberry x ko kush ended up being male could have sworn from the structure it was female very bushy with short nodes had to chop the plant but kept one clone. Its dropping pollen like crazy. I ended up picking up some elite cuts of NL#5 and Afghani Bullrider as well as OrGnKiDs 3 leaf blackberry kush. I plan on using the pollen to make some seeds on a single branch of each.

Sorry to hear it. . .it happens.

Some people say they can, but personally, I've never found plant structure all that helpful in telling males from females. . .especially not in an unstable line like this one that throws off different phenos.

This particular one always looked to me like one of the more interesting of the Sannie freebies, even if it was a "one off".

If you break down the lineage, this one is basically (Sannie Jack Herer IBL x DJ Short Blueberry) x (Herijuana x [pre-98 Bubba Kush x {c99 x G13} ] ) . In other words, its pretty impressive pedigree being derived from six independently famous lines, each known for potency, high quality, and/or flavor.

And speaking of awesome freebies, anyone know when Sannie is going to start putting out freebies again (if ever)?

He hasn't had them in several months and its even to the point where he's taken the "freebies" list off his website.

jogro- you can read more about it on opengrow, but from what i understand he had to devote all his space to replenishing his actual lines, and it will be a while before he has freebies again. the other reason the freebies page is currently gone is because people were using it to post reviews complaining about the lack of freebies.

We are indeed out of freebees for the moment.
We are making the new freebees but this can take around 7-8 weeks to finish.

It is very nice to give extra freebees with a order, but when the sales are going up there is more need for freebees, I am making them myself and we are getting freebees from our breeders. It is important we have several freebees to choose from but more important big stock that will help to have a good choice of freebees of longer time.

I was not in the possiblity to make new freebees but they are coming back, stronger as ever :showoff:

That post is exactly eight weeks old and Sannie said his new freebies would take 7-8 weeks to finish. So if we take Sannie has his word, unless something has changed, the new freebie ceed stock he mentioned above should either be finished already or within a week or so. If true, he still has to harvest, dry and label, them (and the for-sale commercial beans he's running at the same time will probably take precedence), so I'd guess he'll probably have these new ones available in a matter of a couple more weeks.

I "get" why he took it down, but can you blame people? His freebees were so popular, they were a big pretty part of the overall positive "Sannie experience", if you will.

Again, if you take him at his word (above) Sannie said he wants to make sure he had both a variety of new freebees for customers to pick from PLUS enough quantity so he wouldn't run out again soon.

I do have to say, that having a variety of free beans out there is a doubly-smart business move, because not only does he make loyal customers by handing out good quality free beans, he also creates a whole bunch of free "beta-testers". . .if any of the freebies turn out to be especially good or popular, he can then offer them as regular lines.

It is smart business. So far, the free seeds I've grown from him have impressed me as much as any other pack of F1's from other breeders. It happened to be a pack of five ko kush x jackberry.

Out of those five I found 3 females:

Pheno 1: KO Kush dominant, tropical fruit/earthy smell, decent potency, mixed high, finished Oct. 7th @ 45N

Pheno 2: KO Kush dominant, kushy w slight fruity odor, strong indica potency, finished Oct. 7th as well

Pheno 3: Jackberry dominant, sweet tropical fruit smell that changed to more of a green apple smell when dried, potent but not crippling, finished Oct. 10th
-This pheno was the clear winner among the bunch imo. An opened jar didn't even smell like pot, just pure green apple jolly rancher! The high was very cerebral (coming from the jack herer I suppose)

All three had very tight internode spacing. Had I not had a phenomenal year weather wise they probably would've had a hard time with botryits. I have to say that every time I walked into my plot I would go straight to pheno 3 and rub up on her :hump:

I peek at sannies site every now and then to see if the freebies are up again. I think I have a problem.

Its alright to be addicted to sannies seeds. At least they are worth it. I feel lucky to still have 5 of the ko kush x jackberry and 4 of the Free Kush.

Ya the jackberry x ko kush comes from some good parents I crossed my male plant with a local cut of NL#5 and the clone only Afghani bullrider about 2 weeks ago. Im hoping to get alot of seeds to grow out and pick only the best pheno out of them.

Sannies freebies were awesome sad there gone but good to hear they are coming back. I have some killing fields on the way. Im growing all indicas and want to add a good sativa to the garden. I almost picked up his duckfoot he just released because its a cool looking plant would be fun to cross with.

I may have spoken too soon there.

I was looking last night at the Sannie site wondering if he had any updates, which took me to the opengrow site, and I saw a more recent post from him suggesting that based on difficulties he's had in maintaining constant supplies, he's probably not going to offer freebees at all any more. Not sure if he's make the final determination yet or not, but it didn't look good. See here:

https://www.opengrow.com/topic/47116-update-sugar-punch-and-freebees/

Most of the freebees I make myself and depend on gifts from my breeders and customers, at this moment I have some regular freebees but no bulk. besides this the new fem are also failed.

I am realy thinking of stopping with giving away freebees because I can not be sure if the feature can bring us (enough) freebees to give away and I dont want to create false hope.

It would not surprise that this is a doom scenario for me but I am out of options at this time.
Also, the Sugar Punch fert he did didn't take, which means he has to restart a completely new ceed run on that one. . .so those won't be ready for probably ANOTHER three months.

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't know he had this. . .I may check it out myself.

Yep, I heard that about the SP. Silverfields would be a nice alternate. I am curious about the Bullrider x Jackberry/KO cross. Bet something interesting comes out of those. Probably would have to do some hunting unless the Bullrider is quite stable (I have no idea).

The bullrider is huge yielding indica and fast flowering between 40-50 days from what I have heard it is a stable plant but rare clone. Im just hunting for one pheno to keep not planning on breeding it anymore. I know for sure the nl#5 is some stable genetics. I can see the seeds forming after almost 2 weeks now. Looks like I will have 30+ from each branch I pollinated.

I ordered a pack of sannies fem killing fields and it never came but I didnt buy the shipping insurance. I emailed him about a week ago and asked if he knew what happened and told him how I loved the jb x ko kush. I got a email saying he was reshipping the order and I got it today and he sent me 5 reg jb x ko kush seeds

I think he forgot to send them instead of them getting lost. So he sent me the jb x ko k seeds to make up for it. I should be stocked up on seeds for a long time now.

Interesting. After 4 successful orders, my last one never arrived, and I didn't buy the insurance either. I didn't ask for replacements, but he did in fact resend, as I was sent a shipping confirmation. That didn't arrive either. No customs notice....just not here. He offered a refund, which I decined. It does freak me out on a couple levels - mostly because I'd hate to give up on ordering Sannies beans, but also, because where are they??

I've had exactly the same experience.

They're either

a. Still on their way (highly unlikely, but depending on how much time has elapsed, still possible).
b. Intercepted by customs, who just confiscated them and didn't bother to fill out paperwork.
c. Stolen (by customs worker, postal worker, or someone else).
d. Delivered to wrong address.

a and b aren't worrisome.
c probably isn't. Anyone stealing these probably isn't going to want to draw attention to themself later.
d is an interesting possibility, though its pretty improbable.

My guess is "b". Customs snagged this, then didn't bother sending you the form letter.

My order of killing fields never came and I also did not buy insurance.... But I emailed him a month later asking if he knew what happened and I didnt expect him to reship since I didnt buy insurance. He emailed me back saying they were reshipping the killing fields and he sent me 5 reg jackberry x ko kush seeds :-o. I just harvested the plants I pollinated with the jb x kok male so I have a large supply of nl and afghani bullrider seeds crossed from that male. I can now also grow the original jbxkok if I want since I got those seeds.

Just wanted to add this update. As I said, I refused the refund - I believe Sannie mailed 'em so it's not his fault. I told him I would place another order, and the insurance. He replied that he had put X amount of points on my account, basically making the new order amount to half price. They arrived 8 days after placing the order; one popped 2 days later.

I'm also just now sampling my first Extrema buds that finished 9 days ago. I'm finding it to be just as advertised potency-wise, and sweeter than I'd expected. Very impressive yield as well.

I ended up with quite alot more jb x ko kush crossed seeds than I expected 250+. Me and two other friends popped some seeds and these are the fastest growing plants I have ever seen. I normally soak for 24 hours in a shot glass of water then to a moist paper towel in a zip lock baggy. I left them in the zip lock over night and the next day some had already shedded their shells and were looking for light. I had to throw them in soil cups right away. This was also noticed by the other growers.
