Okayyy, maybe my last post was to hard to understand, its a simple cloning question i'm sure most of you already know..

I took some cuttings and dipped them in root hormone, I have them in a situation where water is coating them and dripping off constantly...

I want to know if the root hormone washes off, is it not going to happen ? or does the root hormone somehow go into the plant when u put it on there and kind of " activate " ?

a drip might now, or at least not right away, but dumping water on it will flush some away.

ya well i guess my question is more directed to, if it washes it off, will it not root ? cuz after 24hrs where was no more thick root gel on the cutting anymore. It's not spraying hard at all its basically dampening the stem of the cutting and dripping off the end, but I definately dont notice any hormone on it anymore.

sounds like you're use an aeromister type cloning tub. i've seen a liitle about these. kinda of a neat idea. not sure about the gel. maybe something goes directly into the water? some type of root hormone additive? good question.

well, i don't think that you should be watering the soil after you put the clone in it as it should be wet before you put the clone in. also, most videos that i've seen use a powdery root hormone that seems to cling fine to the root. don't know why you are pulling the clone out to check it's roots after 24 hours, plant may still be in shock.

Im with fdd on this one. Atleast thats how Im understanding it. You have a aeromister. What you do is get a root solution and add to the water. Dont worry though. You dont need it. Just give it a couple days and you will see rapid root growth. Im surprised the kit didnt come with a solution. Im jealous. ;)

I think it is the same concept as what you guys are talking about, but I actually built it myself...

It consits of a 5 gallon bucket and lid, a submergable pump, some tubing and a spray nozel... I drilled multiple holes in the top of the bucket and the cuttings are hanging through, I bought a light spraying nozel than comes off the tubing from the pump and its mounted towards the top of the bucket, constantly spraying and dripping off the stems of the cuttings...

I'm gonna wait it out and see how it goes, because its been about 6 days now and the cuttings still look very healthy
