My first grow went horribly wrong. I really didn't do much research and was surprised that i made it as far as i did before i put an end to my mutants. Hopefully this grow will be very different and good. My plants were HUGE and vegged for waaaaay too long and there wasn't near enough light, or even the right spectrum. Ill leave it at that :P.

Ok, so i have:
- (12) 32 Watt Floros'
- Custom built assembly to house bulbs (Suggestions welcome)
- A closet
- Some good seed from my uncle who doesnt pay attention to names. (He claims its good)
-40 lb. Cat litter bucket. Probably equivalent to 8-9 gallons.

I planted 15 seeds and 14 sprouted. I placed all of them in a pattern inside the bucket to attempt a SOG grow. I wasn't really sure what shape i wanted the plants to take, and also for how long i would veg right off the begening. Right now they are at Day 30 total, Day 2 Bloom. My pictures start at Day 10. The plants are on their second set of fan leaves. They are starting to fold upwards. Im not really sure what causes this but it was confusing me.

Ok so the bottom set of leaves curled up soo bad and basically looked dried out so i clipped them off. I know its not a good idea to clip fan leaves, but i decided to use my own judgement anyways. You can also tell by the tips of the next set of leaves they were getting dry too. Either that or something else, but something bad was happening.

This is the BIG day. I decided today i wanted to attempt Uncle Bens 4 main cola method. The day before i decided to do this the upper fan leaves were becoming soo large that i cut the bottom set off. I figured they would never see light again because the foilage was getting thick and the plants were going to be growing for a few weeks longer still. If you look closely i took some of the middle plants and left 6 nodes on it. I was thinking of letting it have 6 main colas. I wish i could tell fight now which ones are male and which are female then i could allow them to bush out a little bit more. Anyways, for the pics... P.S. ALL COMMENT WELCOME, just dont bash me for how bare the plants are. youll see later on, i didnt ruin it... i dont think...

More growth, it seems to be picking up right about now. I figured it would slow growth temporarily since it lost a lot of leaves, but i also figured the nodes had enough leaves to recover within a few days. I think i was right, here are more pics. I think im going to remove the top two nodes, they are just too small to rely on i think. This is the final time ill use the scissors, hopefully FOREVER!

Two days have passed since they have been in bloom. They poped out of the soil on new years eve and today they are entering their final stage of life. How do they look guys? Be honest!

are those femenized seeds??? they look super healthy dude, good work. definatly a nice shrubbery lol.
but it might be a bitch to kill the males out of there...
and the thing with multiple plants in one container is that the roots strangle each other out, once you cut out the males their root systems remain in there and use up the room in the medium...
but they dont look rootbound yet, or even close
\very healthy man good job\
a little more info or pics of ur grow cab??? any fans or ventelation? and what about nutes????

They are regular seeds, i wish they were feminized. I have some super lemon haze fem. seeds ready for grow #3 but i wanted to make sure this one worked before those even hit the soil. I have a very large closet, 7'x7' and about 12' tall. Its on the outside of the house of i actually have to worry about cold being an issue, not heat. I have an oscillating fan to move the air around and i have it pointed at the tops of the leaves so they dont get burnt by the light. Im glad to hear the comments about their health though. I wasnt really sure, but i think they look awesome! I wonder how tall the nodes will get, hopefully really big! Ill add some zoomed further out pics of the closet in a few.

Ok, the lights were soo bright the flash wouldnt work. You can see the mixed light spectrums i use in one of the pics. In the other pic you can see the rest of the closet, and the mirror in the background which i use to reflect the light back down at the plants. Hopefully this picture isnt too dark... I know im wasting a little bit of light too, but i expect the plants to bush out quite a bit more and hopefully utilize all of it. As you can see, theres also room for me to raise the assembly about another foot or so. I can cut new lets for it if it needs any more height. I dont have a thermomiter but its slightly warmer than my house. Its about 80 degrees during the day with the lights on and about 70-75 when the lights are off. I dont know if its bad that i dont have as big of a temp drop like most people have. I didnt want the temps to fluctuate a whole bunch. I had bad experiences with fluctuating temps and light cycles during grow 1.

yeah you got that right, the temp drops and light fluctuations do stress out the plants. and the temps at night, when they drop lower during the last few wweeks of flowering (at night) then sometimes you get some nice colored buds!!
but 70-75 is pretty good IMO.
i see that your mixing the spectrums on ur bulbs which is good, but when you start to see some buds i suggest getting a few more of the lower spectrum(red) in there.
i think that around 10% of the spectrum above 2700k is good during flowering period.

remember that 2100-3000kelvin is IDEAL flowering spectrum.

Im surprised, these plants are launching up it seems. My longest nodes are approaching 7-8 inches. The growth amuses me because it isnt 1 main cola, each plant is feeding four of those cloas. The newest sets of leaves are starting to yellow. I hope its going right. It was hard to show exactly the color differences with this stupid flash, and without it on the other lights mess up the photo. Either way here it is, they are becoming yellow on the insides and im hoping its not going too slow. They havent shown any signs of topping off just yet. Soon as i start seeing sex signs i guess ill have to bring out the scissors one last time : (. Comments welcome like always.

Today they are looking AWESOME! They are definately getting close to showing their sex. I think on two of the nodes i saw some really really really small furs with my magnifying glass but it was still soo small in the glass that i couldnt confidently say it was a fur. I Have seen furs before so im glad i atleast wont make the noob mistake of confusing them with the other strand looking thing that pops out around every node. I would post some new pics but its a pain in the ass to do since i feel like i only have 1 fan. Thanks for checking this out tho! Ill keep things updated and prolly post some pics in a few more days when they are able to flash us their sex organs! o_O

Edit: I also bought a few more of the 2700k bulbs that way now all 12 bulbs in my bloom assembly are 2700. Think i should leave a few blue spectrum in there or just leave it with all 2700's?

Lol your name is hydro budzz and you are growing in soil I found that ironic
Another thing I noticed, you are using 384 watts of flouros. You could use 134 less watts by getting a 250w HPS and you would have a lot more lumens
Just something to think about
ps- never put more than one plant per pot... ever!

Yah im not good with names, that was the first thing that popped in my head. Plus, i planned on doing a hydro setup in the future, but im starting to enjoy soil a lot so i guess we will have to see :). I did a little research on the HPS bulbs and i would be losing 7000 lumens by going down to a 250 watt hps i think. Im sure what you meant tho was just the fact that the HPS overall would end up being more efficient than the floro. This is for certain! I just enjoy keeping the floros at a close distance and with a fan pointed at my tubes they stay so cool that i think the plants can literally grow touching the bulbs themselves! I think i might give a 250 HPS a shot on grow #4 if we keep in touch ill definately be asking you for some tips. I havent entered into the HID world just yet. As far as the many plants in one pot thing goes, i agree, but i think im too late lol. I was going to make an awesome looking bush like i saw online but i think the person was able to just keep their plant really really short and top the crap out of it. Im keeping this grow going hopefully so some people can see how my bush is going to develope. I have SLH in cups right now. Grow #3 will be 3x SLH feminised under same floro setup. Im gonna let them grow naturally though, just not too tall for the light penetration. Check back in and ill have pics of those when they pop. Thanks for comments bro! will use them for sure.

Ok, i was sitting here not doing anything anyways. Here are some new pics. They are getting very tall and reaching the lights, ill have to raise them today i think. Last pics are the SLH. Any tips on how to grow them underneath that assembly i have for maximum yield?
