Hemp depot has some classic strains and crosses made from them. Joey Weed, etc.

Have had good luck with the Bean hoarder crosses, but I'm suspecting germination rates will be low on alot of those now. Maybe e-mail them and inquire?

Looking for a good seedbank with skunk#1, anyone? :p
Authentic Genetics has the best version of original Sk1. McCormick got his genetics straight from Mel Frank, who got his genetics straight from the source in 1988, and these genetics have only been bred 2x in 35 years, so they havent had the crap bred out of them. This is the only place Id mess with Sk1 and expect to get the least watered down and overbred genetics.

Didn’t skunk 1 suck though on its own?

No it didnt. Skunk1 was a really good strain. UK Cheese is original 1988 Sk1 selection, and has tested at 20%, but total THC content is a poor test for effects of a marijuana strain. Ive smoked 18% strains that were more potent than alleged 30% tested strains.

If it was no good, why do so many strains have Sk1 in it?? Same for NL5. Haze, NL5, and Sk1 are probably in more than 50% of every strain available.

Ahh I may have misunderstood as it was before my time. I was under the impression it bred well but wasn’t the best as Sk1. Thanks for the info, will look more into it. I agree 100% on the 18 to 30 % comparison entirely. Breeding towards high thc at the expense of whatever unidentified cannabinoids give the complete effect has got us where we are today. Bunch of high thc cultivars with crappy highs that are short duration lol.

Ive seen cheese test as high as 26%thc and as you already stated its in everything for a reason (skunk)and exactly thc aint everything its everything working together in combination that gets you properly stoned

Listening to his episodes of the potcast today, Todd Mccormick is a special dude. His knowledge of modern marijuana history is only rivaled by his involvement in it. Looking forward to procuring some of his beans someday.

I totally get where you're coming from. Herbies is a great seed bank. They have strains like Blueberry, Bubba Kush, and even GG#4. If you're looking for something a bit different, they also have strains like Northern Lights and White Widow. I've had good experiences with Herbies and their seeds have always been of good quality. Good luck with your search and happy growing!

I order cheese, skunk, and WW seeds in herbies as well, they understand something in old school seeds. They will always help with the order process

Lol they aint the same now but cheese is just a old select pheno of skunk1 so it will be similiar mind you most fem cheese is a ghani x to cheese so it more indica leaning that straight old skunk#1 still you should see alot of similar traits when growing those two anyways bud so u know

I'm thoroughly convinced that "real" skunk is dead. Too many people got scared to grow it, and the warriors who did almost all got popped for doing so, so they treaded more carefully on their next grows. ... Leading to its ultimate demise.

If REAL TRUE SKUNK #1 was TRULY available, someone wouldn't shut up about it. Last I read, reputable people like Kevin Jodrey were still hunting it but have yet to find it.

You'll probably find stuff that's close, or you'll find disappointingly "sweet" skunks but that's about it IMO.

Try skunk special or some cheese s1s they wont be like cheese but it will be like skunk#1 from sensi in the late 80s as already mentioned theres also ancestral skunk but thats got shit germ rates for the most part as for rks thats a different thing imo thats proly a ghani hybrid rather than straight skunk#1 imo

I'm looking for a good seed bank that takes credit cards and has a good stock of older, "plainer" strains. I'm so tired of seeing everything crossed with fucking GSC or Zkittlez or some 6 way cross in the genetics of the plant. Where the hell can you just get the older, more basic strains like GG#4, Bubba Kush, Blueberry, etc. (household names) that haven't been crossed a million times.

I just got done with 1/3 seeds being full male herm for $30 a pop for some over bred bs (very well known breeder) and I've grown freebies of equal quality so I'm over the "forbidden Runtz GelatoOG blueberry cake gorilla sunset" bullshit for $100 or more. Yes I know some of these older strains are themselves crosses but I'm talking about the absurd shit we see now at these seed banks. I barely recognize any of the strain names on these sites anymore. Surely it isn't just me? I grew some freebies from Seedsman (blueberry, bubba Kush, and white widow) and they were easily some of the healthiest, most stable plants I've seen! Keep it simple stupid!
Breeder Steve from spice of life you all prob to young to have run his beans but back in the day he one one of if not the best

first drop in 20+ years coming soon

I think he has more genetics then anyone in this world like million of beans hundred of mothers

Never. I don't fuck with Cheeses. I'm writing a letter to Congress, asking that Cheese strains be the only marijuanas that stay illegal

I just think that Skunk, as many of us know and remember it, is extinct. The closest we'll get anymore is strains with "skunky" undertones, at best
