So I have had a great success rate growing from seeds. However the last three seeds I have let sit in water never dropped to the bottom of the glass. Should I still put them in the paper towel? Or ?????

I can pop a seed. I have popped many. I was simply asking because I have never had a seed not sink. That’s what this forum is for. Correct. Not make calling etc.

Just put it in a shot-glass of clean water for 24 hours and then sow whether it sinks or not. I add a squirt of peroxide to the water, softens the shell quicker. 99.9% success rate for me using this method...in fact, I cannot remember the last time a seed didn't pop for me.

When I did the water method I would add a little hydrogen peroxide which would surround the seeds with oxygen so seeds would sink and float, never had problems that way,but I prefer the coco starter pellets.

Yes I always use peroxide. I’ve always had about a 95% success rate. This last week I’ve had three out of three not sink. Thank u so much for your advice !! Happy growing

Seeds only sink when they crack so don't worry about that. Just drop them in that moist paper towel. The soaking did it's job. I still use this method myself but many as you see just throw them into soil/coco right away. Just preference. Sometimes seeds take some time to pop so I like the paper towel method and that way I am not left wondering if I should just keep waiting.

had 10 x Heavy Weight Fruit Punch Auto's - soaked for 2 days in PH 6.3, seeds did not crack, placed in a damp coffee filter in side plastic bag for 2 days - presto all cracked and into coco cubes for 6 days very light feed -
Coffee Filters are fantastic for seeds as the hairs do not get caught up in the fibers of the filter- have found using cotton wool or tissue paper the fine hairs break off as they interweave into the fibers....
