Hey guys. Well i've decided to go with a drip system for my clones and mother plants i picked a Apollo 8 from home depot with some inline shut offs and sprayers. I have a few questons for you experts out their since i have never run this system. In my ebb and flow table i have a 160 gph pump probably too large, what size do i need? i use the 160 for ebb and flow so i will need to pick up another one, what size works best? As for the drip emitters all they had was these sprayer type ones that you can adjust flow they spray in a 180 pattern but i was thinking if the pressure is low enough that they will just drip as opposed to spray not sure on this? the manifold is great is has flow adjustment for every individual dripper. I also bought some inline shut offs. Any input is greatly appreciated thanks guys.

Good Luck! I hear drip systems are very high maintenance...you gotta keep the drippers clear of build up.

I'll keep an I on this!:bigjoint:

General Hydroponics offers 3 steups for Deep Water Cultures:

1 Sprayers
2 Bubblers
3 Drippers.

Drip is high maintenance and useless after the roots touch the water anyways. The tubes buildup white nutrients and can clog and spew on plants and need to be cleaned. Sprinklers is a step forward but you still have buildup and more maintenace than a bubbler setup where you just have to clean the inside of the reservoir and refill the nutrients.

Drip rings are a good thing!

Single point emitters have only one aperture to clog and only wet a column of pellets. A drip ring has a number of holes and wets pellets all around the plant, making for better root formation. Also keeps RW cubes (if used for cloning) from being saturated.

Make or buy, drip rings are the best way to drip feed a pot of pellets.

How do you make one of those drip rings? Just make it outta tubing with holes poked in it or is it cheap to buy?

drip rings aren't expensive like $5-6.
idk how to make one tho.
i guess some flexi pvc or plastic and put holes in it?

That sounds like a good plan. I bought an apollo 8 at home depot you can adjust pressure on the top of the manifold for every drip line. What kinda pump should use? i guess i dont need much pressure eh?
