Sexing at germination

I would go germinate my remaining five, but I've got my hands full with how many I have anyways. I'm interested to see the results.

Sounds like a good reason to use my few clones as mothers and test this out with my lavender seeds...

Its official. Tonight i will germ 12 seeds, and do pictorials. I will also try some sort of linear correlation with them to test the second hypothesis of top/bottom/side relationships.

My dad told me about the curls being ladies. I knew he used to grow when he was younger so i asked him for a little help on the germ proccess. and he told me to "Look for the lock" lol. i've germinated 25 out of 40 seeds that my roommate wanted and all of them have been females so far. and i only knew that method of picking the girls. so i'm glad someone else has heard that...

wow... the time that could be saved... i will also participate in this... the more ppl doing it the more conclusive the results will be,,, ive got one about to pop and thats all ive got room left for

I guess go straight too. Most hermies are from stress rather than poor starting genetics, I would think, so even if you get a curly seed you can still fuck it up.

Hermies are females that grow balls due to adverse growing conditions. So they should curl.


This is really interesting. I just germed some seeds two weeks ago. Wish I would have known this then and could have documented. It seems like a lot of the old timers knew about it and used it. I would love to see the results.

Same here. The next time someone germinates some seeds and documents it, send me a PM with a link to your grow journal so I can keep track as well to see if they really do end up being female.

well since everyone is going to participate is seems, I'm going to go pull out my super dank seeds, hopefully I have the space for all these grown plants! haha

just geremed 5 heavy duty fruity from th seeds 3 curled 2 didnt ill keep ya posted just marked the curls

just through 10 bagseed in that 8 curled 2 didnt good ratio i think...will keep you posted see if this is true ? Pretty interesting if it does! Cant wait....

So as i said, i germed my 12 seeds last night. im going to give them 3 days, and check. I'll probably get a little grow journal started... but idk, we're running into mad temp problems today and our BS grow room isnt holding up anymore for it... so we gota get into construction of our box ASAP!

Also, i went even further and seperated the seeds by color (Darker or lighter) and some were spotted, some striped, so i'll have a few differnt things to test.

I got pics of me putting em on the plate and such, but i'll wait till they germ to post... kinda boring looking at un germed seeds..

I got 12 seeds of The Purps coming in, when I germ them I'll take pictures day by day until they mature for reference to either debunk this or support it.

hopefully it works, that would be awesome. - experiments ftw, gives me something extra to look forward to besides tasty tasty marijuana.
