Dont even worry about putting a shed inside a shed. Like whoever it was said it takes a warrant to use infrared so your second shed is not going to stop anyone flying over from seeing whats really going on. Put you plants in one shed and grow them. Dont worry about another shed. I would worry more about theives than police if its in a shed but thats just me.

beat me to it, also. their is a huge difference between the hps and cfls, you do know that right? 2700 lumens times 4 =10,800 lumens. 3 400w hps put out about 40,000-50,000 lumens each. :peace:

That's just in the US, it's based on a US Supreme Court ruling. In the UK, from what I know, it's Orwellian with the video surveillance.

Infrared doesnt see through walls and roofs. If it were that easy we would all be busted.

I dont think hes worried about them seeing through his sheds lol, just seeing the heat being produced inside.

but im sure youll be fine with the hps, and your ladies will be very happy!

best bet is to get good ventilation and vent out the hot air in a non-suspicious place...like your dryer duct..its the hot air being vented out that they would detect

This is exactly why grows should be located in the house...preferably near your other household appliances that produce heat (ie. Clothes dryer, Water heater, Furnace etc). Looks like normal household appliances are running...a hotspot in the middle of your yard in a shed will be obvious as hell.

Like others said earlier though, if they are looking at your remote location...they already know something's up!

oh shit, this is in a shed? Im not sure but i think their is a loophole they dont need a warrant, I dont know how i missed that fact for so long, it says shed twice in the title even. lol. I might be wrong though but i think i read that when i was looking up the ir laws and the supreme courts ruling.

Let me clue you all (most anyways) in.... they can look at WHATEVER they want to. When those birds are flying.... they are RECORDING everyhing they can detect...it's the whole point of using it. They just don't fly blind to a warranted place and turn it on. They are looking ALL the time.

They simply can't file it for a warrant later. But once they know about you .... (fill in the blank).

Not trying to spook you.... just give you some facts of life.

Flir can not be used on your house with out a warrant. On a free standing structure they do not need a warrant. It's only on anything attached to your dwelling they need a warrant for. so if your garage is attached to your house they can not use FLIR without getting a WRnt. They might get lucky and spot your shed while looking around.
