I just heard about it on the news a few minutes ago. Goshdamn you can't go anywhere nowadays without having to worry about getting shot. It's so sad, so very sad! My prayers go out to the victims and their families!

It's fucked up cause if someone was carrying this could of been stopped after he got the first couple shots off.

Only in a perfect world, in reality probably the cause of greater harm to the innocent.

Agreed, but some carry laws are written poorly. How many people could she have saved?

On October 16, 1991, 35-year-old George "Jo Jo" Pierre Hennard, an unemployed merchant seaman who was described by others as angry and withdrawn, with a dislike of women, drove his blue 1987 Ford Ranger pickup truck through the front window of a Luby's cafeteria at 1705 East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen. Yelling "This is what Bell County has done to me!", Hennard then opened fire on its patrons and staff with a Glock 17 pistol and, later, a Ruger P89. He stalked, shot, and killed 23 people while wounding another 20 before committing suicide. Approximately 80 people were in the restaurant at the time.

The first victim was local veterinarian Michael Griffith, 48, who ran to the driver's side of the pickup truck to offer assistance to the driver after the truck crashed through the window. Hennard also approached 32-year-old Suzanna Hupp and her parents. Hupp reached for her revolver in her purse, only to remember she had left it in her car to comply with Texas law. Her father Al, 71, rushed at Hennard in an attempt to subdue him but was fatally shot in the chest. A short time later, as Hupp was escaping, her mother Ursula, 67, was shot in the head and killed as she cradled her wounded husband.

During the massacre, Hennard allowed a woman and her four-year-old child to leave. Another patron, Tommy Vaughn, threw a chair through a plate-glass window, which provided an escape route for himself and other customers.

Hennard reloaded several times and still had ammunition remaining when he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after being cornered and wounded by police.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP]

i agree with the second amendment and general gun rights, but you have to admit the US has a deep rooted problem with guns. It isn't acceptable that on such a powerful and developed country shooting spree's are common every half year or so.

Agreed. Someone could have stopped him. Although idk if I would have had my gas mask on me as well. That would have made stopping the shooter a little more difficult.

Humanity can be one sick species. World is full of nutters. Over the past 30 years society seems to have gone to shit. Who the hell does that? Baby shot in the back ffs.

I hope whatever good there is in the world can in some way comfort those affected.

I just read about that this morning. It's really sad that you have to worry about getting shot when going to a movie. There are a lot of crazies out there with guns. At least they didn't start eating peoples faces. I always see interesting people at the midnight releases, but never any violence.

Ronald Reagan closed most of the sanitariums 30 years ago to cut "big government". So now it's nearly impossible for a family member to get someone committed even if they fear they would do something like this gunman. See freedom from big government means having to see crazy homeless people take shits on your car at 6am and being randomly attacked by someone that would have been committed to an insane asylum 30 years ago.

Wow, this world is beyond repair, people have no regard for this world or human life anymore. All because some dickskin wanted to be remembered for something, he should be hanged by fishhooks in his back in solitary confinement for life without parole with daily beating on his nutsack with a mace.
