Shooting at Dark Knight Rises

Yea. He was dressed head to toe in tactical gear. Bulletproof and everything including a gas mask.
When I heard that he was a neuroscience major my instant thought was Ted Kaczynski. Very intelligent with a few screws loose.

I've seen 3 posts from Reddit this morning, 3 different stories, all of them claim they were there. One guy actually got shot and posted a picture of his tshirt, bullet right through the shoulder, shirt covered in blood. Looked real to me. That's the one I was looking for to post but I couldn't find it in the minute or two I was looking
Damn I gotta see that one.
To bad the cops didn't gun this sick motherfucker down on sight.

That body armor is only good for stopping the bullet penetration, you still have the massive force of impact that will take you out.... then look for cameras... one to the forehead....
Game Over....

I've never seen a kevlar gas mask. Small window, but a window none the less; plus, the psychological impact of someone shooting back may have scared him into some sort of retreat.

i would of been dumped whole magazine in that motherfucker. The hits to the chest will still do great damage and one to the head its a wrap.

Simply put this piece of shit was a coward. Entering a theater where there are a bunch of helpless kids, and opened fire on potentially defenseless people. If he had balls he would of went to the hood (I still acknowledge the possibility of children being hurt tho) to pull that shit, I'd be willing to bet more return shots would of been fired.

ya idk, jus smoked some cheese, and it was a random rant.....

Agreed, but some carry laws are written poorly. How many people could she have saved?

On October 16, 1991, 35-year-old George "Jo Jo" Pierre Hennard, an unemployed merchant seaman who was described by others as angry and withdrawn, with a dislike of women, drove his blue 1987 Ford Ranger pickup truck through the front window of a Luby's cafeteria at 1705 East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen. Yelling "This is what Bell County has done to me!", Hennard then opened fire on its patrons and staff with a Glock 17 pistol and, later, a Ruger P89. He stalked, shot, and killed 23 people while wounding another 20 before committing suicide. Approximately 80 people were in the restaurant at the time.

The first victim was local veterinarian Michael Griffith, 48, who ran to the driver's side of the pickup truck to offer assistance to the driver after the truck crashed through the window. Hennard also approached 32-year-old Suzanna Hupp and her parents. Hupp reached for her revolver in her purse, only to remember she had left it in her car to comply with Texas law. Her father Al, 71, rushed at Hennard in an attempt to subdue him but was fatally shot in the chest. A short time later, as Hupp was escaping, her mother Ursula, 67, was shot in the head and killed as she cradled her wounded husband.

During the massacre, Hennard allowed a woman and her four-year-old child to leave. Another patron, Tommy Vaughn, threw a chair through a plate-glass window, which provided an escape route for himself and other customers.

Hennard reloaded several times and still had ammunition remaining when he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after being cornered and wounded by police.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP]
I agree that some CCLs are poorly written. But, at the time of the Killeen massacre, Texas did not have a carry law. That was why Dr. Hupp left her handgun in the glove compartment of her automobile.

Dr. Hupp is almost single-handedly responsible for the law in Texas. She lobbied the Legislature tirelessly, and in 1995 Texas became a CCL state.

Following her successful campaign to make Texas a CCL state; she then ran for state representative in 1996 and won.

The scuttlebutt around the Capital was that she allegedly 'persuaded' the incumbent to resign his seat or be named as a client in a prostitution ring.

I love Texas politics.

The problem is not the firearms the problem is the arm firing it. You can't prevent crazy, no matter how awesome you do it. Thats why I carry and have a permit to do so, no nutjob is gonna shoot me without me fighting I will not go gentle.

This world doesn't need some comet or ww3, we are self destructing as a people and we are in the early stages of our own made apocalypse. I'm glad I live in the woods on 30 plus acres and have solar and my shit straight at 30 so I can live right, smoke my green, and watch stupid people bring our world down.

Wanna know the really sad part? When i powered up my RIpUter this morning and saw the thread title, my immediate impression was "oh cool! Somebody hung with a camera crew." But no; it was the other kind of shooting. And not even smack. cn
Me too.. You wanna know what makes it even more sad? After I realized that "shooting" was really shooting and not the crew, I was still under the impression that there was a shooting at the shooting.. My god, how could I be so confused?

I wonder if there'll be blurry Youtube vids. I mean, these days everybody and their sister has a smartphone. I would imagine that with so many teens in the theater, at least one had the primary impulse to record it. cn

If there was a shooting at the shooting that would be crazy if somebody recorded it.. It would be a shooting of the shooting that happened at the shooting.

I bet the theatre has some footage of it.. I wonder if one of the sneaky employees will release it to the internet world.

What a terrible tragedy.

What really pisses me off about this story is the three-month old getting killed. For one, WHY IN THE FUCK was there a three-month old at the movie? Only inconsiderate assholes bring infants to a movie, and especially this one in particular as I assume it was a midnight showing of a pretty dark and loud movie. I'm not saying it's the parents fault that that kid is dead (because it's the gunman's obviously) but damn them anyways.
that was my first thought when i heard that part. it's not even just "a movie", it was a midnight showing. who has their infant at the theater at midnight? that shit hurts MY ears sometimes. i can't imagine what it does to the ears of an infant, particularly at a rowdy midnight showing.

certainly not murder-worthy, though. the guy who did this is the epitome of human filth. whatever he gets is too good for him.

I agree. Shit like this makes me feel like I need to start carrying a gun around in public. Better to be protected than become a victim.

There are just too many stupid fucking people out there and the ones that aren't stupid are certifiably crazy. I would bet that only 1 out of maybe 35 people are walking around with a totally healthy mindset.

I can't quite grasp the argument for gun control, what do those people think will happen, all the criminals will just start abiding by the law? Uhh, I'm pretty damn certain that's why they're criminals in the first place... what the law is doesn't mean shit to them. That's also the only argument I've heard from that camp "less guns will mean less crime..", are there any more?

BTW, it's $500 to buy a CCW in CA + $250/every other year..
You are absolutely correct.

And Colorado is a CCL state with reciprocity. However, like Texas, the law stipulates that businesses and institutions can declare themselves 'gun-free' zones.

According to Gun Owners of America, the theater where this massacre occurred was a 'gun-free' zone. As such, a CCL would be meaningless.

'Potential victim' zone would be far more appropriate than 'gun-free.' The shooter sure as hell did not let it stop him.

I hope the individual who committed this crime spends the rest of his life in (to quote Michael Bolton) a 'pound me in the ass' prison.
