Just buy 1 or 2 less new jet fighters & feed the poor......it's that difficult
Ok, lets say it is that easy.

Since the 1920's, politicians have been promising to do it and failing.

Now, they are either lying or so incompetent as to be unable to do it.

You choose which one.

Either way the answer is not more government.

The state, local and federal government have thousands of programs in place for food assistance. Nothing ever seems to get better...

The only people the government seems to make rich are the politicians... Did you ever notice that? Government creates dependence.
This is where you lose me... I have parents and though marriage and have family that have received welfare. I have never collected welfare and I'm grateful I haven't needed to. I probably pay a sizable amount more than you in taxes, everywhere fortunately/unfortunately, but that's just internet talk.

So things are a whole lot better for me and mine, and yes, generationally, we've needed some assistance, but I think we should increase these benefits, not reduce them. Welfare has helped my family.

Based on the fact that I paid 13,000 why dont you tell me what income I should have made to have to pay that much...

It is like a joke. A politician tells you the good news is that the government will never take more than 23%. The bad news is they are going to take 23% out of each pocket...

Why dont you ever reply when I point out that the government took in record revenue last year yet is still in tremendous debt? Oh yeah, you reply you want 'free' college.... *sigh*
Here's another perfect example of why nobody here takes you seriously

You can't even answer a single simple question

You lose me when you flippantly decide that someone else can afford to pay for the poor.

We have thousands of programs at the state, local and federal level. I am not against government, I am against most of the federal government. If a state wants to have a food program (and all of them already have them) then fine. Why do we need federal programs as well? Corruption is easiest when the program is run from the federal level. I just want to eliminate that.

Take the power and money away from the federal government and send it back to the states to decide what to do with.

It wasnt a simple question Padwan. I know you fill out 1 sheet of paper to do your taxes. I have 13-20 to file each year. There is no one tax rate, there are dozens of them.

Can you guess why I maybe would like a flat sales tax? So government would get the fuck out of my life... But hey, we got Obamacare. That is another sheet of paper I must file with my taxes to prove that I paid for my mandatory health insurance...

And the liberals celebrate!!

The only conclusion that can be reached is that you are legitimately stupid because many people have told you exactly why a flat tax is regressive

on a strictly percentage basis which is insanity.

If people were treated equally... Like we are all supposed to be right? If someone spends 100 dollars at 10% they pay 10 dollars tax. If someone spends 10000 dollars at 10% they pay 1000 dollars tax.

A flat percentage cannot possibly be regressive until you start adding things in like social justice.... It is simple math afterall.

Nobody asked me. Am I supposed to feel guilty that we are one of the few functioning countries on the planet despite what you want?

I had a very interesting conversation with a man who lived in Bosnia most of his life. He thinks Americans are crazy to want to let the government run things. In Boznia when you go to the DMV you go for the week. You wait in line until they close for the day and you come back the next day and hope you get close to your place in line from the day before.

Well, unless you are connected. Then it takes 5 minutes....
Dunce, you are a really stupid man living in the wealthiest country in the history of the world. You hurt your back in a different job but were able to set yourself up in an inspection business. Not saying it was easy but the country you live in give you many more chances than, say in the poor section of Calcutta. You wouldn't stand a chance if you were born in a place where it was a struggle to make it. Your are simple too frail and too dumb. And lucky to be born here.

You failed to point out how that is regressive.

But I didnt expect anything more.
It cuts taxes for the rich and increases taxes for the poor, hence, regressive

You understand this, you just don't believe it and that highlights the problem with you; if you don't like it, you don't believe it, even if it's true. See: anthropogenic climate change, gender dysphoria, the unemployment rate, etc. You base your beliefs on what makes you feel good
