It’s called defoliation. And you remove the entire fan leaf. And take as few as possible. Rule o thumb.

I would not cut the tips. Have you tried bending the main stem a bit to help the available light hit lower potential bud sites?

Do not cut tips! Relax on the scissor action. No need to get nuts. They need their leaves… so only cut what needs to be cut and relax. Take your time, no need to rush.

Fans help feed the entire plant, including the bud sites you want to open up.
Thinning is a good way to help with air circulation on a vigorous plant and to increase some penetration.
Full defoliation is controversial.
It’s a slippery slope. Think minimalistic.
Try to bend what you can first.

I have literally went off on people here for being assholes and talking crazy to people. ( for this reason) I’m going to try to say this nicely. We are not all meant to grow. If you don’t know how to research something well enough to learn the basics on your own (such as defoliation) maybe you should consider buying your smoke n leave the growing to the adults. I mean…. Look shit up guys. There are so many outlets out there for research it’s ridiculous. Stop being lazy and do your own research.

Nah… just amazed at the fact that people don’t even try to do any research. Hell they start growing and just stumble it out. No research, no nothin. N then come on here looking for training. Which I het that this is what the sites for ( sharing experiences and knowledge). But you would think they would at least learn the basics on their own.

i mainlined 2 sativa plants in a 2x4 and am using a scrog and plant ties so everything is even. no complaints about my lights.

i agree easy stuff like defoliation and pruning. but there isn't too much information about trimming leaf tips instead of full defoliation of the leaf.

There’s not info on tip cutting because it’s not a real thing. If you are defoliating u cut the whole fan off. And as always and again. Less is more, cut as few as possible.
