Hi guys,

I am now a seasoned coco grower. I was thinking about trying soil out for the 1st time. (Also done rockwool and dwc grows in the past)

Is there anyone out there who has done coco and soil and loves soil more for some reason?

I have a full drain to waste system... so an attempt at soil would be an easy switch. My main motives are better aromas.... Will I get better smelling weed with soil over coco?

hey oill i did coco and switched to soil and love it. my very first attempt at growing was DWC, whole shebang setup...that failed at seedling basket transfer every try....switched to coco for couple of years...i dislike inherent nature of a soiless medium to lack self regulation of any kind, but i succeeded at coco growing enough to speak on it...then found a vid about diggin up ur forest floor and using that soil, i live on 40acres so wham bam thank you maam im a soil grower.
there is one thing i find to be displeasurable about soil and the trade off is that you cant fix stuff fast in soil like in coco....this actually has a steeper learning curve than youd think, but coco trains you well for fixing soil growing problems.
hope this helps

Probably not. Properly grown bud absolutely reeks in either method. "Better" is also very subjectical.

I prefer many strains in hydro compared to soil. Super Lemon Haze taste "better" in hydro IMO for example.

Soil grown buds have a tendency to taste earthy, you get a more distinct flavour range and differences with hydro. That being said I still prefer some strains grown in soil.

but i forgot the reason i love soil over coco....it's because it's autopilot growing....from liftoff to landing and disembarkation, you aint gotta do nothing but pull off bugs and leaves and water. whereas coco is high maintenance every day.
Only high maintenance if you hand feed every day.

This is set currently to feed for 15mins 5x a day.

All I do is remove the runoff catchment.

fairly cheap to setup too.
