Sides maturing FIRST?!?!

I would like to say thank you for taking the time to look at my question!! Ok I am on my first grow and it's coming to an end. I believe I have 3 weeks left flowering my skunk #1 clone I got from a club. It's under 2 400w hps (vegged under mh) and 6 42w cfl for side lighting. I have been using an array if nutes to find what is best but right now I'm using cha ching, gravity, molasses in ph'd distilled wate. I think that about covers that! Which brings me to my question, I was under the impression that the top of my plant should mature first (red hairs, cloudy thichomes) but the sides if my plant is getting the red hairs first!!!! Why?!?! The lights are about 8 inches away but have extremly good ventillation so it's stays about 75-80 degrees. Any imput would b appreciated, including things off topic that I may benifit from!!!

I know I need pics but I'm posting off my fone so I'll have em when I get home. But please help a first time grower. I forgot to mention I grow in soil, my plant is 4' and growing in a 15 gallon pot! I already addicted to growing so b kind!!!!

the reason is less light intensity. these show mature sugns first as they have less light triggering the plant into thinking it needs to mature faster there in order to produce. It also gets first access to nutes and water down low which is why many like to lollipop and get that lower stuff removed as the buds are small usualy fluffy and not worth it but take from the larger tops that will be your prize at harvest

it should more or less mature around the same time.....
but prob cuz ur supplemental lighting

Thank you so much for the reply!!! So if I have mature buds on the side can I harvest them first? Also the canopy leaves are yellow! Looking very healthy, but yellow. Not drooping not crunchy but just a lack of chloryphll(sp?) I'm just so confused with my first harvest idk what to do!!!!!

You can take the little popcorns early if they are ready wont hurt as they usually dont offer much in ways of looks and get used for hash but are fine to smoke while waiting for the colas to finish...The plants should start to go get yellow at end of the flower cycle as you cut off nitrogen few weeks in and then depending on soil or hydro your flushing for anywhere from 5-12 days so they use uip whats left in the leaves. now if you have like a month left then you may have a bit of nutrient salt lock out going on and might need a flush to free up the build up

So close to harvest, don't worry about those fans yellowing. Older buds often ripen on older growth first.
Sure, you can harvest ripe bud and leave the rest.
