Small LED Grow Box - Autoflowers.

Hi guys, how's it going?
Happy 420!

I am in the process of turning a chest of drawers into a small grow box as I no longer have the space for a larger grow tent. The internal diameters are: Width 25", Depth 12", Height 28".

I plan to grow 2/4 autoflowers in (probably fastbuds genetics) 5/10l pots using biobizz lightmix and nutrients. I will be topping and mainlining from the third node to keep them small and maximise top sites in such a small grow area.

Ventilation will be a 6" extraction fan connected to a varispeed controller as the oversized fan slowed down will be much quieter than a smaller fan on full power.

The problem I'm having is finding a suitable light for such a short grow box. I would like to go with LED's but of course they have to be a good distance from the canopy to avoid burning. I could dim the LED to counteract this problem but that will minimise the spread from the light so in order to counteract this second problem I would have to have either one big light or multiple smaller ones to fill the entire top of the grow box...

I have came up with two options for this, either: 2x Viparspectra P600's or 1 Viparspectra P2000.

I am trying to keep costs down and would appreciate any advice you guys may have on cheaper/better value offers.

I will continue to document the process of the grow in this thread.

Thanks in advance guys.
All the best and happy growing!

Thanks for your reply! Sorry if this isn't the right section, I'm kinda new. Do I just copy this post into the other sections or is having the same post in two different sections agains the rules?

No problem. I was just saying you may find the LED that suits you in the micro section better?

How do you feel about wiring your own?

Sheet of aluminum, some strip lights and a meanwell driver.
Light off only 1/2" thick, and you can place the driver wherever you want.

Or a quantum board, place the driver outside the box.

Not sure if this is allowed, but

Led would be fine, depending on the wattage really ! If not high output fluorescents like t5 or pll's or just cfl's ! I would go led but it's horses for courses !

Go with 2 plants, train them early, keep them short and any advised light(s) will work nice. Have you access to lights or cash available ? If so the choices are massive ! Could use hps just small hps , could run 150w x2 with all that extraction it's easy, I have run 250w mh / hps in set of drawers like yours ! As well as mercury vapour back in the day ! I've used pll's too ! 250w hps in a cooltube works wonders ! Just giving ideas ! Run filter outside of drawers if needed ! My chest of drawers still looked like drawers ! Kept the drawers faces and put them on thin board and I used Velcro to keep front on but can use hinges !

Wazzzupp yo! If you look at the box for the light you want to get, you will see a chart. A lot of LED's only advice 4 - 6 Inches away from the plant which is a massive difference compared to MH or HPS
