Smart Phone PAR / Light Meter App, "Korona" - Compared to Apogee MQ500

"Growing Answers", on youtube, did a test and review of this new par meter app called "Korona". He also compared to an Apogee MQ500 par meter. The results are pretty damn impressive. Watch the video if you're gonna try it out, he gives valuable instructions/tips on how to set up your phone and use the app for accurate results. Right now it's just iOS, if you have an iPhone, please go try it out and share some results - that would be cool.

Also, check this out. I wonder if it's legit, and any good. There are mentions of "Dragon's Den", the show, on the website...hah. Interesting.
It supposedly measures PAR, spectrum, and more. It's just over the price of a 'newer' model Apogee par meter though and look at what it claims it can do (in canada anyways, if you know a cheap(er) place to get a par meter, specifically Apogee, please share).

Hopefully they release android soon. I've tried a couple other apps and compared against the maps from tests with proper meters and they seem accurate enough to be useful information.
I'd guess that each phone and its sensor may give different readings in the same app. I'll try some other phones out and see.

Android app is out now. iphone app been out for a while. Iphone app needs a paper filter. See website for details.

Just picked up a photobio from phantom off indoor growing canada

Nice. Yea, more and more people are getting that one. Hopefully you'll let us know how it works out. If you can compare some readings with it and the photone app, that would be appreciated.

Migro compared several apps to the apogee. The photone was the closest. He's working with an app called "ppfd meter" though, and you can pair it with a bluetooth lux meter, they're working on making that option even more accurate. The photone app is quite good it appears.

It depends on the light/bulb/board. Eg: HLG gives figures for theirs, to convert.
Edit: Or, at least some info about the type of light source.

I've got that ppfd meter app. I got it about 4 months ago maybe. I don't have a meter to compare it to tho.

I’m asking because the HPS option is locked on the app I can only use the Lux meter so I wanted to know what 400,000 lux would convert to with out paying for the app to find out

I use PPFFD meter and lux light meter apps nothing to compare but i think its give something advice. I tested only how plants reacting to different lux and ppfd. Maybe new phones are more accurate cause better technology.

Guys, a lot of these apps report numbers that are way off. Migro compared several. Just so you know. The one I was using was off my about 30% (from the new one, who's numbers actually seem to make sense).

Yes. The one that did good is the one this thread is about
They've changed the name of the app (to "Photone") and just released the android version of the app (for beta users I guess).
