Ive had a leafminer issue since I started. Dam bastards suck cause they eat all your leaf tissue then leave it dead.
So, I put a 1/2 inch layer of sand at the top and I purchased eco smart organic lawn & garden insecticide, what I do is post up 5 q-tips strategically around the plant and spray them down with my organic insecticide... Has been working pretty good, so far.

haha, the neighbor art is funny. i never had it attract any unwanted bugs and when it does they also die in the beer, ive had 1 or 2 worms go in, some gnats, and alot of pincher bugs. im good with them dying as well, and as for the worms well it was only a few and my soil has hundreds or more,
i mihgt get the bait as well soon to test it out, the only thing i dont like is it is non organic, but im sure if i dont use it in my beds ill be fine

yup beer.. fill a party cup full dig in ground till flush. all snails ,slugs love the smell of beer they will go in and drown

Try the beer trick or go to the hardware store and buy those copper strips that are made for snail control.

the copper does work but ive noticed that the bigger ones go right over it. i saw a video where they hook up te copper to a 9 volt battery to make electricity go through the wire so when a slug does hit it it is zapped. i want to do it, but i think id go through a whole lot of nine volts

well, ive tried almost every thing for slugs. and i have to give it up to slug and snail bait. this shit works great, i didnt even use it near my garden cuz i have dogs and it is a chem so i used around the other parts of the house and front yard and have not seen any slugs in my garden for ever now, they are how ever dyig off in the bait. i dont like to use it but it works great, next year i will catch them before they breed with organic methods.

slug and snail bait isn't really that toxic. you only need to use it the first few weeks. once your plants get sturdy enough they won't be bothered. by the time the flower the bait is long gone.
i don't know why people don't just do things the easy way from the beginning.

well it says fatal to pets right on the box, and i dont want to take a chance on a it with my dogs, plus its working how i am using it. thanks for posting it earlier in this thread though, mine is not corrys though, it is made by eliminator. and my plants are way beyond more then sturdy enough. i also feel that the chems used in teh bait will effect any living organic matter and benifical fungus in the soil, i dont use near my garden and it still works great.

I might end up doing it the easy way... My garden is fenced off on one side so I am thinking about putting the bait on the other side of the fence. It seems to be where they are coming from. I haven't seen one in a while on the garden side. Once I put the beer out they seemed to have vanished, I was looking forward to seeing some drunk snails. But no snails is a helluva lot better.
