Here we go 10/1, just germed 2 Fem Snow White seeds from Nirvana(paper towel method)
- they're going straight into thier pots once they're cracked, no
transplanting
- Using the Ace Potting Soil (Yes it's storebrand..ha) mixed w hydroton (which i had from a digusting failed attempt at hydro..lol)
- im gonna start em with 105w full spectrum cfl in the tent
- Using Flora Nova Nutes
- Numerous array of smaller watt cfl's Daylight/Cool white/warm white/and a 55w warm white cfl (for flowering) - I'll be adding those lights once they get a bit bigger
- Also, for shits & giggles I'm gonna throw a 1x1 (mixed red&blue) LED Panel in the tent. :weed:
- gonna throw some bagseed's in a week before switching to flower just to see what i get..

Grow Journal cool I'm subscribed. I want to see what happens with the Snow White seeds under your conditions. On a side note have you tried running your light array in your tent to see the temps yet?

I've had the 105w running since yesterday checking periodically hasnt gone above 76 YET.... now obviously thats gonna change when i add the other lights, so i plan on picking up an exhaust fan from homedepot..
But figuring i wont need it for another 2 weeks....the 105w should be sufficient for the first 2 weeks....agree?? Im prob gonna throw some daylights in tonight after i set up my lights :) (courtesy of u!) so yeh im ready for temps to shoot up... just gotta p/u the fan

Ya the 105 should be good for 2-3 weeks or atleast till the plants are on there second set of nodes. Does your tent have some kind of hole in the side for an exhaust fan?

Yup...it has one goin directly out of the top...
then one going out of the top left corner & one going out the bottom left corner as well....4" on all 3... plus it has 2 other longer -rectangular openings with mesh...do u call that a passive intake?? Not sure but it has that tooo....lol

Yep passive intake means = Air passes through an opening without THAT OPENING having a fan to push or pull air in.

It also provides great negative pressure.

I recommend an inline fan because I dont see how you could incorporate a bathroom fan in one of those tents

anyway Home depot has a 4" inline fan that is OK but will help pull air out. Its cheap but I have found that the CFM is on the low side. I would recommend buying the 6" for the higher cfm and getting a reducer. ( will show in pics or links)

6" fan
6 In. 110VAC 250CFM In-Line Duct Fan - 3011 at The Home Depot

4" Ducting

6" - 4" reducer

wall cap - snap out all the louvers ( easy they pop out ) and place this inside the tent with the round 4" PVC side going through the hole. Will make life easy to connect the 4" flex dryer line.

also you can use

or two - 4" hose clamps

On a side note these are only suggestions. I bought the 4" and now am bummed I didn't get the 6" and I am extracting from something HALF the size of your tent.

thank you again for the diagram..lol, much needed!! And super easy!!
Lets see how u think i did..

I actually found the rings to go around the tent frame from Ace Hardware...only .89 a piece. :) And grabbed some zip ties too cause they can only come in handy in a pinch!!

I am so proud! lol

I have 2 worries though but you did a GREAT job!

1st worry is in pic 2 with the zip tie and duct tape. Duct tape adhesion diminishes when it gets hot and since that connection is "holding up" the lights I would move that connection to the lower horizontal bar or you might be able to get away with running a zip tie around the bar but also THROUGH the key ring. This would put to much friction and tension on anything trying to run up the bar.

2nd worry is that I have used those clip on light reflectors before and know that there is always the possibility to have them fall on your plant. One way to avoid that is to thread the clip on part ( upside down triangle) THROUGH the center rode ( Shoe holder ) This way there is no way they can fall on your plants.

Looks good though and I am excited for you! 79r68072345674365078 times better then the shack grow .... lol sorry but true. <3 ya

looking at your pics again the cool thing is that you could run probably 5 reflectors down that bar or even add another bar setup and have 10. pretty dam cool! Good job!:clap::clap:

TYTY!!! :) thats y i put the duct tape & zip ties...already had those damn things fall on one of my plants, but thats a good idea...i can def get it thru the pole no problem....
Also...it looks that much better I DEF agree, but i have NO shame..lol, my lil shack grow seems to have done an ok job..but i knew it was only temporary... Im actually getting so impatient waiting for it to finish... but i guess that all part of the game!!
Thank you again...now im waiting to see those 2 Snow white's sprout, tho tryin to stay positive..not sure bout the one seed..it was TINY!
-took em outta the paper towel yesterday and dropped em in the soil.
-keeping the soil moist
- and hopin for the best
-worst case scenario..i have a few mixed seeds left from Nirvana, so if the one doesnt sprout... i'll germ another one..

i had a similiar tho less secure..lol..set up in my last apt..but someone got busted and I prefered to be safe than sorry...had to cut the grow :( my only thing with those reflectors is they can be a bit bulky, i have that LED panel, and even if it doesnt work per say..its refelective. so i have it above the bar right now...
Im thinking of using the 2 reflectors & led panel...then just using the splitters and stuff so i can fit more in...know what i mean?? sometimes the bulbs r too big, and they dont fit in the reflector's....smaller watts YEH, but not the bigger watts..

I dont know if you have a Costco near you but they have this unit for $9 were I live and it works like a charm so I bought 2 more. lol This is just a suggestion to look at unconventional places for lights also or just a heads up if you have a Costco.

yep its everything bulb / reflector and its GREAT for vegging .... I also ran it with 2 42 watt 2700K ( 150 watt eqiv ) for flower and in my opinion it filled out the buds a bit more for cfl grows BUT at the expense of a longer flowering time by 1 week.

EDIT - you do have to wire it but its SUPER easy and could talk you through if you need help.
