So I’m completely new to growing!!! How ever I did buy a small tent for a maximum of 3 plants or so... depending on strain of course. I’ve completed the paper towel trick and have two strains planted already as of now. Some (Cali) “Jon snow” and some “purple punch” which are now potted and am waiting for the first stem to come and poke Its way through the soil. Has anyone got any good recommendations on any other small equipment. You know little trimming scissors etc. Even a good extension lead maybe also has any of you got any experience with natural ferts, as I don’t wish to use the bottled chemicals?

Welcome to RIU, and to growing!

Research is the most important thing you can do right now. Learn as much as you can. Focus on the early stages right now... there's lots of time before you need to decide on trimming tools. By the time you get to that part of your grow, you'll already know what you'll want.

A great beginners resource is https://growweedeasy.com.

You can start here by letting us know more about your grow.

- Lighting
- Grow medium
- Temperature
- Humidity

On the site I mentioned you'll learn about pH. Since you've already got plants in dirt, get to learning pH as one of the first things you do. Nutrients/feeding is also something you'll want to be informed about right away as well.

Happy growing, and happy 4/20!

How big is the tent? What are you doing for air circulation/smell control? What lights you running?

PH meter
LUX meter
Microscope. There are ones that clip onto a cell phone that work really well on amazon.

Most grow shops sell something similar to this. Its the only fert i use. Smells fucking terrible- thats how you know its good shit.

First of all welcome to the forum. Secondly, here’s a small list of necessities-lights, exhaust, oscillating fans, humidifier, dehumidifier, hygrometer, ph pen, etc. Trust me, these will be necessary at some point. Since you plan on growing organically, I’m sure you will be recommend to use coco. I personally like coco, but for a first time grower I wouldn’t recommend it. I would go with some soil with no nutrients like promix hp for example. Then get some soil amendments. The options are pretty vast. Doing it this way you just water and that’s it. No need to bottle feed. Ph’ing your water is critical to ensure the proper uptake on nutrients in the amendments. I would research growing organic cannabis.

You'll get more suggestion if you're a little more specific. There are so many methods to this craft and that leaves a lot of room for variables.

For trimming scissors - Chikamas is about as good as it gets. Durable and sharp as hell.
If you have decent water (under 200ppms) Fox Farm has a couple decent soil blends that have enough amendments to take you through to harvest (in appropriate size pots with proper topdressing)

You didn't mention if you'd set up your lights, fans or exhaust.
And, you'll most likely need a couple of meters. TDS/EC, ph, and a hygrometer for your tent.

That's all my baked brain can think of but others will be along shortly.
Good luck

Scissors should be the last worry of a new grower. Few people start with a big enough setup and actually get a big enough yield for it to really matter.

So? It was literally the only specific request listed
Has anyone got any good recommendations on any other small equipment. You know little trimming scissors etc.
And I use my Chickas for everything. Taking clones, selective pruning, etc.

Right, so you recommended a LUX meter, lol.
Stop hijacking the dudes thread
Is having the right amount of light not more important than scissors?

He asked "Has anyone got any good recommendations on any other small equipment."
I answered with LUX meter. Is that not small equipment?

Thanks for the replies! I have grown outside but in Spain. Now in a secret location in Europe jk.
Im currently at seedling stage... I’ve used a organic soil with a mix of a husk towards the bottom of the pot as i found in Spain it kept the soil damper when it was so humid.

currently I’m only running around 90W LED Full Spectrum light panel. Humidity I’m trying to keep around 53% with a temp of around 24*C. Thanks yet again!! Also I was feeling a little crazy and have new seeds starting for a Guerilla OP I shall keep you all updated! Happy late 4/20. Rest in peace Dean also Know as AKA “Black the ripper” for trying to do in his words “legalise the ting”

No worries. Everyone here is always willing to help out. I’ve learned a ton here. Not one way of growing is the best. Take snippets from what everyone advises, and make it your own. Eventually you will build your own recipe for success. Good luck and the best of wishes on your journey to growing.
