This year there is definitely residual snow. We have a heavy winter and the iconic Tallac "Cross" is still there and will probably last until the first snowfall. As for goats...not here in the basin.

Because.. I have a .38 special next to me right now & it'll be with me when I take a piss in 3 min. My Gun is my Religion. It shall save me.

going into where the Hills Have Eyes? Fuhk that.

Here in SoCal, you cant just Run up into the Hills without wondering if you'll be shot by some Gorilla Grower.

That looks like fun GWN....I'm competing in next month's "Tough Mudder" at Squaw Valley. I'm really looking forward to it. Stuff like this really makes one feel "alive", ya know? When I was up at the summit today, taking in the view....I was overwhelmed with emotion...make sense?

Gotcha...Pretty benign environment up in the Desolation Wilderness. The occasional Black Bear is all you'll typically find and they're pretty easy to deal with actually.

I do love going hiking into the mountains. But I do always have my gun because its Often you catch a strong scent of Marijuana in the distance and can never be too careful. I have never came across a bear.. :) thats what my 10mm is for, Honestly as wrong as it sounds.. I would shoot if it did not walk away immediately.
