Solve My Floor Problem Please

I use wire shelving to raise the smartpots off the ground to encourage air under the pot.

you could use maybe some chainlink fencing, or similar. it doesnt take much of an air gap to insulate and promote airflow. You could probly find enough fencing for free or pretty cheap.

concret is like a sponge in that it will soak up water, i used to lay it so no about its absorbing ways, lol unless its had a self leveling compound poured over it after it was layed, so again massah spot on with advice coz let it go on the floor and either evaporate or be soaked up either way its getting rid of the excess n no probs with stagnent water ! concret gets layed with a foam sheeting under and a plastic membrane as to stop uptake of water from the ground and into ur house !

ps circulating fans r gr8 for ridding ur area of moisture etc !

Yeahhhhh buddy!!! With an op like that, don't cheap out. You haven't by the looks of things yet. Keep in mind ou first mentioned water build up, and now seem more concerned with heat transfer away from your pots to the cold floor. Spend the bucks on the plastic pallets or even the types of floors found in nurseries. Maybe a less costly approach would be those child play mats that link together like puzzle pieces. The are foam rubber and have insulating properties.
than we are back to the runoff collecting under them ...no good...If I could only score some pallets like that

I use big heavy pots, I dont think wire will do it, or by the time Im done, I spent just as much on preassure treated as on pallets and Id rather go with palletts

well then, plan out a grid size that works, drop the cash buy a bunch of PVC and 90's and T's. 1" will do, if you feel you need more than that, dont know what to tell ya. , It may cost a penny or two, but if you dont glue it, itl pop apart easily, and last forever.

so how about wood pallets but set them on something to get them off the floor? 1/2 pvc pipe.metal electric conduit(called EMT).a brick at each corner.

I thought about milk crates too but they wouldn't be even... I think uno had the right idea, but instead of chain link fence get a bunch of cinder blocks or bricks and then place lattice down. You can buy 4'x8' pcs at home depot or lowes. Now if. that doesn't do it nothing will. Stay high.

I like the lattice idea., it may not have the height for some people, but would be great for me. I only need airflow to help aeration.
