is the money worth the setup?
basic materals needed

DWC / Bubbleponics is pretty easy. You can basically take a 5 gallon bucket add an air stone attached to a air pump and you have a bubbleponics set up. You can have as many air stones as you want lots of oxygen directly to the roots is what makes your plant grow so quick in veg. You want to change your water every 7-14 days but in between that time you will have to add back water every day to your bucket or " top off" daily. And please remember in bubbleponics the water temperature should always be 62 degrees - 70 degrees. anything higher and you will start to have problems.
You also left off the list a PH meter & PPM Meter. Very important for any hydro grow.

Technically bubbleponics and dwc are different. In that bubbleponics employs a drip feed as well. It's a waste. Don't buy that crap, like Beaver said just get a bucket, airstone and air pump if you want to do this kind of setup. The stealth hydro kit is way overpriced and the service with them is for shit. I ordered from them a long time ago, shipment was missing a bunch of shit, got a second shipment from them that was supposed to be the missing items i called about, there was still missing stuff. I got so fed up I said fuck it and bought the remaining items I needed elsewhere to finish the incomplete shit they sent me.

I second the PPM and PH meters. Once you get established, the water you add every couple of days or so you can add certain amount of nutes so as not to dilute the medium to the point of plant starvation. Though if your changing the water every week, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

one thing to keep in mind when getting started is that you are going to have to change the nutes at some point so setting up your buckets with a drain,I used to use clear 1/2" tubeing use a rubber gromet and a 90 deg barbed fitting and it also doubles as a nute level gauge, keeping your buckets up off the floor will make things easyer,I use milk crates if you can get them, just turn the fitting down to drain the bucket, makes things alot easyer

water is the life of your plants bro...it works in all sorts of ways...for easier maintenance and better results go for a recirculating system...get a pump (something like a 350 gph) and install drains at the bottoms of your buckets...run a supply line into your garden and stick 1/4" straight barb fittings in it to supply the plants with water...drill a small hole at the lip of the bucket to stick the 1/4" supply hose into the bucket...run the drain lines back to the res...put air lines in everything...the smaller the bubbles the better...the more bubbles the better...the more turbulence and bubble poppage that occurs the more oxygen gets into the water...tons of smaller bubbles work better than a few big bubbles because the smaller bubbles create more surface area...a recirc system allows you to maintain all buckets fill, drain, feed, etc. without disturbing your plants

is the money worth the setup?

yes, absolutely...even a recirc system is worth it...$150-200 can get you a real sweet DIY setup

basic materals needed

look up some DIY links and then you can put a list together of shit you will need...mostly 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" hose and plastic barbed fittings...hose clamps...the pump...a backup pump....depending on the type of air pump, you may need more than one...hookin up all your shat to a surge protector is a good idea too...dont forget thermometer to measure water temp (and air temp), pH meter, & TDS meter, etc.

black five gal bucket and lid

get the net pot lids made for 5 gallon buckets...they snap onto the bucket and are reusable and reliable

6inch net pot
clay balls

sure2grow is also an option...this stuff works great www.suretogrow.com

air pump
6 inch air stone
any thing i missed?
