soo many strains soo little room

wow just started looking for lowryder auto fem for my small cfl grow and got lost on all the strains....amazing.
i thought lowryder would be best for my set-up (10sq feet x 4ft H ) but i keep seeing northern lights as under 4feet and not to bad to grow indoors and like every other 'noob' (who has alot of gray hairs LOL ) always wanted to try the mythic-northern-high-times-winner-lights LOL .

what do you think RIU ?

Personally, I've never grown autoflower plants or in such a short space. That being said, I would try the NL or another short strain. Try vegging it for just 2 weeks, and let it only get to be about 8" high before flowering. There are ways to keep it short, I like to top my plants but others tie them down using low stress training. Anyway, I hope this helps :)

with lst u can keep pretty much any indica dominant strain under a foot. I was doin lowryder hybrids in my armoir, but i've tryed lowryder 1,2, diesel ryder, and snow ryder; and some stay at a foot without lst (lowryder 1 and lowryder 2 at about 12-16) but the others like diesel ryder needed to be trained to stay in the closet anyway. So i went back to non-autoflowering plants, which I've found i can actually clontrol the height on more! kinda makes sense with the autos u pick the height u want in ur seeds and don't have a choice thereafter, but with the clones u pick exactly what height u want with the only constraint being the amount of stretch during flower. I would say do a side by side grow of a favorite clone and a fem auto of ur choice and see which u like better. Oh and out of the auots i liked lowryder 2 best, i have some pics in my profile, good luck brotha

you can actually grow just about anything in that space. i've got slighly less height than that and am going to grow some Kali mist and atomic haze (both tall) among others. i'm doing 12/12 light schedule from seed, but you could do it like normal with topping or low stress training. so i'd say, to keep it simple, choose a nice hybrid that you like, and don't veg it too long.

edit: sorry actually i forgot, i've got an aircooled hood which helps alot, so maybe stick to the indica dominant plants

"my set-up (10sq feet x 4ft H )"

Dr Greenthumb's Big Laughing has a stretch of 50% - 16" in veg to 24" in flower and will produce 2+ ounces. Best grown single cola - like a cone with a sharp point and thick at the bottom.

.

Here's a couple pics of a horizontal grow method I use, I'll have 6' of stem wrapped around a bucket with only the branches growing up. 6" - 18" colas everwhere, every cola gets maximum light, large yield, great potency. Easier to move and manage than a scrog.

A method of bending the stems without creasing.

.

To the right is a Super Strawberry Diesel with 4 stems (double topped) that vegged to 16" and stretched to about 18"- 20". The stems virtually stop stretching when it's bent horizontal, the branches start up. The Big Laughing I mentioned above is the middle plant, almost exactly 24" and the main cola and branch colas will thicken up before harvest, it will produce at least 2 oz, maybe 3 if I don't clip buds for testers before it's ripe. An Auto flower - Taiga - to the left (33").

.

The bucket from above, each node will produce a top cola.

PeakSeedsBC Northern Lights will grow much like the Big Laughing from above. I double topped and ended flower at 22" and got close to 3 oz. Thick juicy nugs solid from the first node to the top.

"Okay, you tryin' to hurt me? Are you tryin' to hurt - you're tryin' to injure me, right? You're trying to hurt me." LOL LOL !!

hobbes, pac-man great looking plants !! thanx for the tips.

love the creativity....looks like that's a bucket cut down to the bottom with only the bottom lip remaining and the sides used like a groove for the stems and breadbag ties...AWESOME!!!

HOBBES i'm going to try that with one of the rims from my old '78 toyota tercel...i think it's a 13" rim..yes i said 13" LOL, by drilling holes in it and hanging it sideways like yours and training the stems around it. it's very light. brings a whole new meaning to "OHH OH WHAT A FEELING TOY-O-TA!" LOL !! any old timers remember that ?!?!?

PACMAN what is that your pots are resting in. are they raised on a platform or on some lava rocks n such for
drainage ??

And can i inquire about your set-up fellas ??

thanks hobbes . found this on the site , kind of scared me off but i'll keep looking.
