Space required for outdoor?

So in general, how many square feet would a proper outdoor plant need? Looking at property to buy now that I'm back on the best coast and trying to figure out how much land to buy.

My plan is to pick up a decent piece of land, but most of the stuff in norcal isn't completely cleared out. My goal would to be to find a nice wooded piece of property that I can clear enough at the front of a property line to drop a trailer while I build a home and the clear enough in the middle of the property for agriculture...haha. Was just trying to figure out how big that clearing would need to be.

I'm curious what counties are the most outdoor friendly. Originally I was looking at land in shasta and butte county but after looking at laws it's not worth the headache. Yolo county seems to be cultivator friendly, but land is stupid expensive. Any suggestions?

Or better yet, for those that rent land each season how do you even begin to hunt down people that will let you rent land?

@doublejj has some experience renting and buying land. Maybe he can help you. Maybe not! Lols. Keep researching though, you got lots of that ahead of you
