Spraying for thrips

Hey all,

So I flipped my girls about 7 or 8 days ago. 3 days ago I noticed signs of thrips on my lower leafs. I dusted the plants with spinosad powder, as I could not get the spray right away ( sold out at the shop )

Anyways, I have some spinosad insect spray coming tomorrow. I plan to spray the powder off with it.

My question is. Do you think, it will harm the final product, taste wise?

I'm only a week since flip, so I believe I should be fine. Howver. I wanted some pointers from someone with more knowledge.

Plenty of folks on here have sprayed spinosad during flowering with no ill effects on flavour.

It breaks down quickly in direct light from memory.

It’s one of my go to products should I need it.

but I’ve found with better cleanliness and making sure you don’t go into your grow when you’ve been outside and making sure all intakes are screened etc with a few neem sprays/root drenches during veg your flower time should be trouble free.

I've used a diatomaceous earth foilar spray ......knocks the hell out of any insect with an exoskeleton. I've quickly exterminated white flies and aphids. DE is phenomenal shit. I use a one gallon garden sprayer......the spray is a slurry so the reservoir must be shaken constantly when spraying .......cover grow medium to avoid bugs falling into it.........its great to do it before it starts budding.....leaves will become dirty looking...that's okay......virtually all of the leaves with residualDE on surface will be gone prior to harvesting buds. We put it on carpets and lawns,around perimeter of house etc..............only work when dry......I keep a circle of it around base of plants, I place on foil so it can be removed when watering.....also, it's cheap, so are the sprayers............guess I shouldn't of walked and fired up.....blah-blah-blah...sorry about the rambling, but this outbeats all of those shitty DIY insect killers.....they all suck. Go get the little shits!

It's so freaking safe !..........I worked on environmental testing and analysis for over40 yrs.....private companies,EPA, State regulators,hazardous materials etc.good luck

Oh most definitely. I will be for sure . Its my bedroom lol. Which is my room only. Making sure to stay sterilized will be fine .

Totally fine to spray them - if you can, use a green light and spray them about 2 hours before lights on - i never like to spray with lights on

you can spray through week 3 of flower - after that, i wouldn't spray anything

captain jacks dead bug spinosad seems to work the best - i usually only have to spray once and the thrips are toast - the few times i used the monterey garden spray, it didn't work as well as the capt jacks, for whatever reason

I used the powder version of capt jacks ! Couldn't get the spray. However I have a spinosad spray coming. Using it to clean the powder off and give one more extinction of anything left

Oh good - yea i never used the powder before, but it's probably just as effective

Lowes and Home Depot both carry the liquid

cool man - you should be good to go now for sure - shit works great

Make sure to get food grade DE vs garden/pool . The food grade contains amorphous silica vs crystalline which is in garden DE. Crystalline silica is nasty shit.

Considering the things at stake , flavor would not be a major worry.
