the plants are with in 4" of the lights and will burn if i get them any closer and if i made the bulbs horizontal you realize they wouldnt all fit right? vertical bulbs equaling 286 watts is better than horizontal bulb equaling 184 watts which is all that fits while horizontal not enough surface area on the top of the box...
sorry, totally forgot we already discussed horizontal vs vertical. you know how stoner memory goes...

but you should still be able to get them an inch or two closer. what wattage are each of the bulbs? The only burns i've gotten were from bulbs being less than an inch from growth.

Yea you should be fine. I'd keep them about 2 inches away but that's just me.
you are training them early so im sure you'll be fine either way.

looking very bushy, one thing does the pot have holes at the bottom to benefit from the holes in the lower frame with intake?
I dont have any holes in the bottom of the pot because i didnt want any water to spill anywhere in the box. Does anyone know why it is the white widow is so much smaller than the sour desiel when they have gotten the same light the same water the same soil?

so you have no way for the pots to drain? that's not good... drill some holes in the bottom of your pot and put it on some sort of tray to catch the runoff.

I will probably do that tonight, though i have been very careful not to water so much that it accumulates on the bottom of the pot. I stick my finger all the way too the bottom and it is moist not wet but i do see the advantages of holes in the bottom with a tray to catch run off.

Does anyone know if white widow grows slower than sour diesel or do i have some sort of nutrient deficiency? I am getting concerned with the differences in growth due to them having the exact same growing conditions.

having a lil water in the runoff tray is not bad. Most of the time the plants will end up reabsorbing the water from there, bottom up. it'll help keep them from drying out so quick. granted, if you end up having puddles of runoff and the top of the soil is still dry, something is not right. When i water my plants (i have huge 3.5 gallon pots) it takes a lil more than 1/2 g per pot and ends up with about 1/2" of runoff 30 mins later. A day later this will be a minuscule puddle and by the time i have to water again the runoff is gone.

its most likely just genetics man, as long as theres no symptoms of a problem your fine. think of it like when you were in 3rd grade, all of the kids in your class werent the same height just because of there genetics, and your plants are no different. each one has its own groove to get into dont worry.

lookin good man.. idk if you plan on tranplanting, but i suggest putting a piece of plastic or something inbetwen the two plants in the same pot to prevent the root systems from getting tangled under soil..plants will end up pulling each other out of the soil..love that cab though

I never really thought about the roots messing with one another, i guess i will be heading to my local DIY store to figure something out tomorrow.

just out of curiosity, what is that fan on the door for? Is it just for circulation?
They are the intake on the bottom and the exhaust at the time they have 6" holes dilled behind them which go into the light trap behind them on the back door ( its not the front that opens )
