strange hermaphrodite

Hello everyone ! I recently found that one of my plants was a hermaphrodite, but it seems as though it only grew balls on the lowest branches. i noticed it one day and tried to collect all of the pollen and destroy it, but this happened about 3 or 4 times. MOst of the time I pulled the balls off before they opened up...will the 3 or 4 pollen sacks pollenate my whole garden?

I do have fans blowing and its in a room with one exhaust fan.

Whats strange about your hermie,from your description it sounds like the run of the mill hermie.

Anyyways your not going to like this but yess,the 3 or 4 pollen sacks can pollinate the entire grow area & all the plants in that area.

Look for pollen sacks in & on the buds also,not just between nodes,if i were you i'd just kill it right now unless you dont mind seeds.

I have a lovely "intersexed" female. Throws a few sacks here and there. Excellent smoke, great plant (Kc Brain Swiss XT). I live with it. The most I ever had was 8 seeds in one harvest. A few balls here and there, pinch all you can and its fine. I am going to try Dutch Master Reverse next batch. But no way am I letting my mom go away.

i've come to understand that what i heard about feminized seeds from hermies wasnt really true. i did some research and found that most people who tried doing this resulted with many hermaphrodite offspring as opposed to all female plants as i heard. i read up on forums and marijuana botany and found that on average people reported roughly half of the offspring were hermie but very few males, the females were just genetically insuperior plants and had a generally low yield. but you never know you could get lucky! but from what ive researched, i wouldnt waste my time

I personally wouldnt put too much stock into the hermie seed theory,nothing has been proven either way,just as much evidence points tword a higher rate of female to male ratio as it does to an increased risk of hermaphroditism.

Until our hobby is legalized & recognized as part of the botanical sciences most of the information on this issue will be from seed breeders,as it is now,im not so sure information is reliable when it comes from seed breeders with vested interests in the seed market.

u really think only like 8 seeds in a harvest? The buds are really big..some almost an inch thick 1 month into 12/12. it doesnt appear to be all seeds..anyone else with any low-branch hermie experience???

It depends on when you pluck the sacs off really,
I've gotten away with no seed while growing a completley hermie crop
its just really stressful watching them like a hawk.

bullshit. I've grown seeds from a herm that pollinated itself and almost never produced a
pure female, thats not to say it wont go fem, just that its less likely
