Stretching ~ Pros and Cons?

I have 2 plants that I grew in a patch of "bamboo like" weeds. These two are twice as high as my other plants. They are at least 7 feet tall! (Just as tall as the bamboo they are growing in). Both seem to be very healthy, they just look a little sparse because of their hight. I realize they stretched out because they were competing for sunlight but my question is: How will this affect yield and are there any other positive or negative effects? Thanks in advance!

yea your negative effects will be no good bud below the tops of that bamboo that's stealing their light.Your only real yield will come from any tops that are above that point. A 7 ft tall plant can yield mere grams if it's a beanpole. You gotta pic?

I had a hard time tyring to single out the plants in thP1020750.jpge pic because of all the surrounding vegetation. Also showing a few other plants I have, 2nd -3rd week of flower and I'm getting super stoked!P1020759.jpg

Well, it is what it is. At this point all I can do is wait and see. If they yield alot less than the other ones, I will not grow in the bamboo patch next summer. I thought it was a good spot because they are invisible in there! Live and learn I guess.

Your plant is really stretchy. A lot of space in between each node. Don t be so hasty and give up on the bamboo patch for next year. Thats exactly where mine are this year. about 20 of them. You gotta kepp up on te bamboo and keep cutting it down. It'll grow fast during the spring w/ large shoots. If you keep chopping it down, the shoots get smaller and less vigorous. You could even just stomp on the bamboo, most times it will break. Just clear out what you need and keep up on it and you should be ok.

Thanks pickle, I will most likely try again next year. I have to really be careful how much I clear out because its a small patch and boarders a community park. The cops sit/hide there every morning 20 - yards from my plants! At first it made me nervous but its impossible to see them in all that veg. Besides I think they are actually taking naps down there anyway. LOL!

Some pros could be the taller the plant the closer its gets to the light source thus meaning the more lumens it recieves ( In most cases ). Also I was thinking about letting my plants in early veg get a lil strech so they reach to the side of the pot to start Lst.
