Stupid mistakes that get you caught

really? so what kind of things are the DEA using then, heat sensors and flyovers? what else cuz this is soe crazy shit i'm hearing, lucky i've got alot of wild area so it can always "appear" that it grew wild but what else are the DEA using to catch growers?

I remember a time when ALL of my friends grew, or were very close to people who grew. One day, a friend of mine came over to my house for a BBQ and as we sat down and had a beer or six, he started talking about how he turned his elementary school friend in for growing 2 plants. The poor fucking guy got 1 year in PRISON and 10,000 bucks in fines, not to mention lawyer fees and everything else that goes down with that. What compels someone to bust on a friend? Is it just because people are loudmouths and have to feel important? My motto: Don't tell anyone, even your best friend, your mother, your father, your brother, sister, pastor, coworker, anyone. Even if you're selling to someone, someone you know better than yourself, don't tell them about your setup. It's just stupid, and in like 90% of the states in this country, marijuana cultivation = big jail time. Is weed really worth a year of being poked in the ass by a 300lb black man named Molly? No, no it's not.

The Supreme Court has ruled on thermal imaging. They can use it on your house if they have already have a warrant, but not otherwise. They can't fly over, see a bunch of lights via heat signature, and use that to get a warrant. Using thermal imaging on your home in and of itself constitutes a search, and so requires a warrant first. Using thermal imaging on your home without a warrant is illegal, and they could lose their job or themselves be imprisoned if they do it. This applies only in the States.

I believe the cops were forced to get a truck and return the guy's lights and equipment, since without the thermal imaging their case was too shaky, and the thermal imaging (and all evidence derived from the raid based on the thermal imaging) was thrown out as fruit from the poisonous tree.

I live by the the 'LL's - don't seLL, don't smeLL, don't teLL. Then your lil closet can be your own psychoactive secret. Actually, I DID sell for a while (to pay for my med science degree but that's a deliciously ironic story for another day) and I found I only needed to offload about a quarter a week to keep myself from slaving in some job when I needed to study a trillion hours a week. So I found four straight-side-of-the-spectrum people who wanted a quarter a month of genuine organic homegrown. Small-time tokers with a demon of a wife and a taste for really fucking dank weed are possibly least likely to tell of anyone. Hell, I even sold it to them in the same glass jar I used to cure it in. No manky dimebags here. Middle-class tokers go all weak at the knees for that shit. I felt like that kid from American Beauty.

Never sell from your home - cop the fare and meet them at a cafe. Never take weed on public transport. I had a dog sniff out a pair of fucking scissors I used to chop up once. Scissors. I mean what the fuck. Pay for a taxi. If you don't have carbon filters then don't be a dickhead and go get some tomorrow at the very latest. Oh, and don;t forget thje drying period - peopel relax about the smell once the babies are stripped but drying's where the smell really pumps out bigtime. I dry my buds in the same closet I use to grow it cause the carbon filter's a gift from God and you can keep the ventilation fan on low to avoid budrot.

And don't tell anyone. Even the people I sold to here thought I got my weed from some upstate Mr Big. It's just the safest way, and if you can't keep a secret why expect anyone else to?

everybody pretty much covered it here... but nobody talked about cops lying. they can show up at your house claiming a call of domestic violence, shouting, or any other creative reason and ask to go inside to make sure every thing is alright. ok. read this carefully:

if a cop/cops has evidence to go into your house he will, no questions, no talking, no nonesense.

if you meet a cop near or at your growsite, and he is not ramming his way inside, knocking down the doors, going inside blah blah blah, he doesn't have enough evidence to search you or your property without your CONSENT. so technically you don't even have to talk to him.

so if you ever hear these words: i'm going to have to ask you to open your trunk. i'm going to have to step inside and make sure everything's alright... basically any sentence involving: i'm going to have to... or i;m gonna have to ask, they don't have enough to enter your house or search your property. remember, if a cop has enough to search you or your property he will, he won't ask you anything, he will just go ahead and do it.

ALSO, you have a right against self incrimination, so if a cop "detains" you for whatever reason, shut up. don't say anything, they will go ahead with the: we can help you, make it easy on yourself... blablabla.... ask this: am I under arrest? if they say no you can leave. it's not up to them.... if they say you are being detained for questioning, DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU IN A HOLDING CELL, you are not under arrest and a interrogation room sufices, anything else can constitute false imprisonment. ask for a lawyer and get ready for a long day/night/afternoon/ cuz you're gonna be waiting for a while.

patience is key. the cops are on the clock, it's their job, so the only time they're wasting is yours, on purpose....PATIENCE..... remember that if you are not under arrest you can leave at any time, so they will stand in the way of the door waiting for you to loose it, just be patient and keep blurting out these words: Am I under arrest? am I free to go?... interrogation rooms have cameras and microphones so if a cop says NO you are not free to go, and you are not under arrest, he is violating your civil rights and you my friend have just won cause for a civil suit for false imprisonment..... remember you're rights, defend them enforce them, no cop can take them away from you.... and if you find yourself in this predicament i suggest you stp the whole growing thing for a while til things cool off.....

i know of at least four ppl that grow in my area. im obviously no nark since i grow but if ppl are telling me they grow they will eventually tell the wrong person and get caught. if ppl tell me they grow i say oh thats cool i dont say oh i grow too because if they are telling ppl they grow then they wont have any problem telling other ppl that i grow

well, there is 13 states right now that have legal medical marijuana... you can find your own state on this link to see what the laws for possesion and cultivation are in your state.... its definitely something that you want to know and it varies greatly from state to state.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to post a few things that may or may not help with anyone's situation(s).
I was thrown in jail for theft but basically it was a false imprisonment. I had a situation somewhat like this 1 where only 2 other people knew that I did actually steal it and I was fucking stupid enough to do this.... Here is the first story.
And it pertains to this portion.

I was asked to come in for questioning by someone who I thought was a friend of mine (FUCKING PIG I"M GONNA GET YOU) so I did and he said that there was evidence and video tape and blah blah blah there wasn't shit. He said I CAN HELP YOU IF YOU CAN HELP ME... I said what's up? He said IF YOU TURN THE STUFF IN YOU WILL WALK... So I said that's it? It's that easy? He said JUST BRING IT IN AND YOU GO FREE, NO JAIL NO NOTHING. I said fine went home and brought the shit in... (REMEMBER POSSESSION IS 9/10's OF THE LAW) I was arrested on the spot for possession of stolen property and the judge was cool enough to knock it down to a misdemeanor petty theft but it was still the point.

The next story I have is about a thing in the past that I did. Something similar to this story.

I was on parole/probation for counterfieting and I was in my grow room (bedroom closet) when I got a call from my PO saying she was going to be coming by to talk and was on my road almost to my house. I had (4) 5' plants with so much bud on it omfg what a waste. I cut mine down and took them out and fed them to my mothers goats lol I heard tires on gravel and looked up and my PO was a lot closer than I thought so I grabbed what I could and ran inside and flushed it down the toilet. The thing clogged and I was plunging it when she knocked on my door... I yelled just a second I'm in the bathroom and she heard come in.... WTF?! I was in the bathroom plunging and she was just outside my door. I finished up and washed up pretty good then talked to her. Turns out I forgot to sign some paperwork... FUCKING WASTE!!!! I forgot the other story lol I gotta go anyway gotta do bills today...

One of the easiest ways to get pulled over for buds is rockin a lil Jamaican Flag in your car and its fucked up cause im Jamaican and i was riding minding my business mind you i had buds on me wasnt speeding didnt do anything wrong got pulled got searched found pot went to jail....so i would refrain from the jamaican flag in tha car lol.....check out my grow

If buds were found they would have fully activated my prison sentence... That sentence was 134 years in a Federal Penetentary. Yea I paniced dude. I couldn't hide the buds either, they search your whole house and my plants were fucking bushes. No where to hide that big of plants lol. She had already came up and searched my shit and made me get rid of my pipes n shit so I was scared shitless she was gonna flip my pad again.

what gets you busted is when you sell at your house and people just come over in for a second and then leave again or if they take out there wallet wile walking up to the door its rediculous hwo obvious it looks when you come out the car shake the guys hand and walk back into your house

Here is a list of simple things that you can do to stay on the right side of the law:

1) Drive a registered, insured, mechanically sound car, and have a valid driver's license. If you have expired tags or an expired license in many states the police can tow your car, and when they do they will begin to search around.

2) Don't smoke in your car, not just when you are on the way to deal, but ever. If you smoke in your car the scent will be all over, and it may fade away to you, but a K9 would pick it up quick. If a dog indicates you have drugs they can search everything. Every single part of the cannabis plant is illegal, seeds, stems, leaves, etc. If the feds wanted to fuck with you they could seize your car because of it.

3) Don't tell anyone about your grow. The more people that know, the more people that can turn on you to reduce their time inside.

4) Scent control, light control, heat control. If you can smell herb outside your grow area so can other people. If you have thousands of watts of bright light shining out of a bedroom in the middle of the night that could alert people. If you have the heat from the lights exhausting out of strange places it could look suspicious when the weather turns cold.

5) Don't ship directly to your grow. I ordered through a recommended website and added into the notes: "Please ship this discreetly". A week later the delivery truck showed up with my Growzilla reflector in original packaging. The only thing they shipped discreetly was a bag of Perlite. Fuckers!

6) DO NOT SPEAK TO THE POLICE WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY PRESENT. The Supreme Court decided in May or June that you aren't guaranteed your right to silence, you have to invoke your 5th amendment rights.

I'm going to post, or link to, a video that everyone should see. It is a law professor teaching his class about 5th amendment rights. His advice: Don't talk to the police, ever!
The funny thing is that he debates with a local police chief who also advises, Don't ever talk to the cops.
