my welded 3 x4ft aluminum frames are[now] made for the Estonian rigid strips/drivers i bought
when i get them insrtalled and running ..will update..
they are double rows of leds 20w for 16" strip..i will live with the extra watts.[.i may leave out the over heads]
anyway..your suncloaks are doing pretty good wha?
Sounds like it's working out. Do keep me updated. How many 20 watt strips are there & what are they 16" long of double rows? Link me to the Rigid strips again please. I'd like to fabricate something out of led hard strips that can go above my more narrow bays.
Right now I have 2 tube 3k T-8's above the 2 27k bays. Hate using them if I can get 4' hard strips. But they are keeping the tops around 320 umols evenly. Funny though, is that the top strip on the Cloak is soooo much brighter then the 32w tube, using only 12.5-15 watts. The LED strips blow away Floro tubes. Was thinking about just buying the 15w led Floro replacement tubes from the Depot but they have a plastic shell over them & are already 8000 lumens less then the 32w Floro.
Yeah, if you could link me to different led hard strips that would be appreciated. Are your Rigid strips better then the Samsung?
I may just ask Doug to make me some 4 strippers. I like all the light I can get cuz my plants are not optimal for this system the way I grew them. They've been tipped quite a few times & are thick bushes, making it tough for the light to get in. Did some De-Fo but not a full stripping like I should've. Mainly cuz many of these strains don't respond well to it.
The actual recommended way to grow in the Cloak using 3 bays for highest yields is 9 plants, straight stalks w/ very little veg. I think it's 30 days from sprout or clone. That's how's Poeple get the best results from this system. I've yet to try it that way. The way I ran them last run worked out pretty well too.
Not sure how you grow or prepare your veg normally but you may want to consider the manufacturer recommended directions.
This run for me, I needed to add light just so I can try to get most of what these plants have to offer. They could be 14 oz. plants by their size & how full they are from full illumination. But, the Cloak puts out only enough light for 8oz. Plants using 2 plants over bay. Which is very, very efficient. Getting 7-9 oz. off 150 watts a plant.
This system doesn't need extra light added if I had not bushed them. Can't wait to see what effect these 4k Horizons have on my yields. The way it's going I feel like they will add another 1.5 #'s using 3. If so, I'm definitely getting more. I'd like to use one on each end-cap too. Probably ask for the 2'x4' version though.
ZepLovers grow style would be perfect to hang one Horizon vertically on each side of the plant. I bet that would easily hit 2 gpw that way.
One could easily build their own version of the SunCloak using Horizons & just buy a few every harvest till your done.
But yeah, I'm going to ask him to make me what I want to replace those T-8's. The thought of breaking one over the buds scared the shit outta me plus they just look like wasted electricity next to the top horizontal strips in the Cloak. Real bad. 32w & not even close to being as bright as the led strips.
He may not be able to cuz he works these in 100w intervals. I'm also interested in finding out how much load these Medium-Powered diodes can hold. Pretty sure he's well under the 1/2 power mark.
When I open up the box to hang the 56k veg Horizons, I'll show you a close up of what they're like. You may find it easier to try to build those. They'd be more versatile in the garden & can be used just like the Cloak.
Definitely keep us updated & as you know, Im happy to help if I can. You're spot welding them? What's your total dimensions? Very interested to see your work.
Ok, rant over n out.
