ok im not sure i really understand what is the purpose? is it to keep plants shorter or is it like topping without cutting? i tried it on a couple in veg and dont really see any difference? any and all comments welcome thanks.

many will disagree with that. i hear do it in veg i hear flower so only way to for sure know is to do it side by side. unless by pinching the stem or supercropping the plant has been provin to do something benifical for the plant on a scientific level i dont see how scing can be any different than pruning your plant to where right before flower there are only the top main colas at the top of each plant all lower has been pruned away as plant grows using all energy to be focused where the light is good. you know it sounded a lot better in my head so i dont know if im getting it out right. i dont have enough exp to say for sure either way but i do have some and hope to have enough one day to not have to question anything. thanks all

does supcroping

dude, you do it in veg from early on then stop a week before flower. the purpose is to disrupt top shoot growth so the plants redirects growth to the lower shoots and bud sights that usually don't get light in flowering. your plants should look like a Jewish menorah instead of a Christmas tree....Hmm, i just realized the humorous contrast in my previous sentence:) you need to look at your plant in veg and visualize every bud sight being a huge frosty bud in 8-10 flowering weeks, and don't fuck with them during flower cause you will shock them and stunt growth!

Pretty much everything this guy said is the best answer. Instead of one long big cola you'll have like 12 colas
thick as a soda cans. I love super cropping. Increases my yield and makes my buds look high times worthy.

I perform supercropping on all of my sativas after 1 week of 12/12. Shortens stretch and increases yield. This is a practice that can be dangerous if not done correctly. id suggest looking up some videos on supercropping. Next time you go to harvest a plant. Supercrop the shit out it with the heavy buds on it. If you stem snaps and breaks from the process you did it wrong. But hey you were gonna cut that plant down right now anyways ^_^. good way to learn.

I have tried supercropping without much success but do top all my plants at about 1.5 weeks before 12/12 and have some anazing results, but iIMO some strains really do not like to be fucked with and punish you with stunted growth. oct2-2.jpgThis pic was taken 2 weeks from seed and they had just been topped.oct 12.jpgThis pic is 10 days later after all plants were topped and they have been under 12/12 since the the 7th of Oct. When I try SC I tend to break the stalk or have it straighten back up the next day. The plants are White Russian BTW.

LOL.... ya doing nothing wrong. Once cropped the plant thinks it has lost that shoot so it diverts its attention to the lower branches. By the time your cropped branch has repaired (straight with large nuckle) the lower branches will have come some way to catching up with the branch you cropped..... ergo a more even canopy and more tops.

Supercropping is pretty much the same as topping but without the loss of leafage.

I just like the giant gnarly stalks supercropping develops. And I was over doing it when I first started too. Crunch the stalk too munch and the next day the top will be hanging by a thread and it heals back with woody fibers and big ripped blackened holes in the stalk.
