Switching for an enviro to an HPS

Greetings guys,

I have been growing for a few years now, I have a grow tent with X2 Enviro at 300 W.

I am really thinking about switching to an HPS 600W.

Can you guys give me some advice on a good setup, how far do the plants need to be from the lamp, I am worried about heat. I am looking for any info...

if your willing to spend the extra $$ on a cooltube, some tubing to vent hot air and an adaquit exhaust fan you should be able to put the light 4-6 inches away from the plants..... and in a tent that size you will get some amazing buds. all in all, if your willing to spend the $$ on the light, tubing and fans then you will be VERY happy.

i used to use 200 watt enviros and did some nice plants, then got a 250 hps with euro reflector, 2 weeks later got a 400 hps.......11 months later got a lumatek 600 wth diamond reflector in a 3 1/2 x 4 x 5 grow cab, plants are within a ft of light and getting 2-3 oz dry per plant 12-12 from seed......

I have 3 plants in late flowering right now, they need a couple more weeks, but for my next batch I am gona get the following setup
