T5 Questions

Just got a T5 and I have a few new girls. They are about a foot tall, just topped... the T5 should be right on these ladies correct?

The meter have has a 500 and 5000 setting, and I'm getting 35 (10X) so 350 light candles out of 500. Is this enough light for these babies?

I'm also getting forty more babies tomorrow, small ones.

The T5 I have has four lights in it... is this enough to cover all the babies? What type of light candel intensity am I looking for? I figured I would leave them under the t5 for a week and then pop my 1000 watter for them. Would this work fine?

Experienced grower, but don't know jack shit about t5's. Thanks in advance.

I use T5 HO by Sun Blaze, is this what you have? You must be experienced I don't know anything about light candles, I've only know of foot candles. If you post a picture that would help.

Did it say how many lumens it was? I know that standard a plant should be getting 3000 lumens per square foot. I know that both of my sun blaze T5's put out 10,000 lumens each. I have 2 plants and they are very happy.

Check out the t-5 in my grow journal in my signature. It's a 4ft 4 bulb fixture. Used 4 High output veg bulbs with great results. About 5,000 lumens per bulb and it makes really compact lush growth. Plus No heat. This is perfect for cuttings because unlike HPS's which produce all their light from 1 point and it radiats outwards, T-5's produce that 5,000 lumens over every 2 inch section. In combination with no heat, you can have those lights an inch away and have hardly any light intensity lost.

Mr I Can Do That For Half
I can put about 20 plants under a 4 tube 4 foot fixture in soil from clone.I never use any pots smaller then 1 gallon though as that root binds them to quick. The T%s can be about 1/4 inch from tops with no worries at all.. I like my cheaper T8 fixtures for vegging now. I bought a 4 tube setup and then added another ballast to make it a 6 4 foot bulb setup and wired a plug to it cost about $60 with bulbs..

I'm thinking it may be cheaper just to do something like what you have going on there Fletch. Did you buy the stuff from a place like Home Depot? You can get blue spectrum floros too in that size I believe.

Starting to think my 180 dollar investment on this t5 was a bit of a waste, I think I will return it.

Is the wiring complex at all fletch or no? Thanks for the help guys.

Cant find how many lumens right now, but I iwll look in the manual.

Considering the tubes are only half as big as yours and I paid nearly three times as much I think it's time to make a return either way. I am sure yours is putting out a ton more lumens than mine.
