Tap Root REALLY long,Help a hydro noob

Adding 3 cents lol... You are wasting CO! That seedling is way to young to even begin to need it. CO shouldnt be introduced until flowering. Also I looked but didnt see it what kind of light are you vegging with? Also I see you like the RO water (i love it). Thats good... But if you wanted to stick with tap make sure you let it sit out for 24 hours with no nutes. This lets much of the chlorine evaporate. Making it in my opinion much easier to work with. Also getting a ppm meter also shows you how much in nutrients your wasting lol. I to dumped every 10- 14 day adding plain ph'd water...Then i got of a feel for it and only dumped my rez every 4 wks. adding back diluted nutes between times. Just my 3 cents...

I'm not sure how you are growing in hydro without a ppm meter. You have no way of knowing when to increase or decrease nutrients, until maybe it is too late. Your PH swings are more than likely tied to your PPM issues. I use 3 waterfarms and when I have the PPM dialed in correctly, I seldom, if ever have to adjust the ph.

CO gas is administered to speed up the growth rate of vegetation. You begin to administer it when your plant has left the transition stage from seedling and is entering the veg cycle. You are right though about it being too early. Right now, the plant is growing roots.

As for res changes, that depends really. What if a plant uses up all of the available nitrogen in the water, but there is still plenty of other nutes to give a high ppm reading? Because you haven't changed the reservoir in weeks, this scenario is increasingly possible the longer you go between changes.

+1

and cold temps will cause the leaves to droop a bit and look wrinkled like old people :)

I feel that a negative statment my water sometime gets in the low 60 and no sign of that, I even had a heater go out and hit the 50 and all it did
was slow it down a bit. PH on the other hand can cause all kinds of funky looking leaves and wrinkles.
