Tears in the stem?

Merry christmas everyone
i have a plant that i accidentally mutilated...
Do you think she will be okay?
Will those spots callus over?

Hmm i think she sprouted nov 12th
sorry, i didnt put much detail.
under 6 26watt cfl bulbs, blue ones.
fed novaduo part a+b once in a while and has mg cactus soil with worm castings and perlite and a bit of dolomite lime.
need any more info?

Nobody can know for sure...but if there's enough tissue to maintain "circulation" it should heal. Secure splinting is the key.

I was going to splint it but its at a weird angle so i dont know what to do.
the new growth at the tops and side branches is still just as good as the non ripped branches so i think she will be okay!

does anyone know of any kind of goo/liquid/paste for plants that could heal that?

Looks fine. Keep in mind it may end up being a weak point. Sometimes plants (any type plant) grows back stronger than ever. Sometimes it looks healed and strong but is actually weak upon lateral pressure. Just keep in mind where it is and try to not give it undue stress at that joint in the future.

I will keep that in mind, im trying to find some kind of paste or something that i can cover it with in the stores in my area but no luck so far.

Hi Nova,
Just for the sake of discussion and perhaps future reference. When growing, it's nice to have some material for splinting and training. Bonsai suppliers will have various guages of soft aluminum wire. That works good for splinting regardless of angle. Pipe cleaners work for younger/smaller plants.

Far as any all purpose plant goo...not needed and will probably do more harm. The plant will produce all the internal chemicals/hormones that it needs to heal. For plant grafting, a plant sealant is commonly used and I suppose could be if you had a large stem break. To keep bacteria/fungus from entering plant.

I use a stiff zip tie as a splint and whatever tape is handy, masking, duct, bandage tape.

If it's real weak I will splint two sides.

I am a Klutz, I break shit all the time.

My Veg has had girls In it since I started in July !
( covered in tape bandages from super crop breaks)
( I'm to ruff)

The plant in my Flower was Germinated July 9 and it will be 3 weeks in Flower tomorrow .

I have yet to come across a bonsai store but i do have some nurseries i want to go check out. I think the rips are just from training a bit too late cause i can bend the small shoots in a circle and they dont rip.
Its all learning experience!
its amazing to me to see a plant hurt like that and still grow like nothing happened.
in my next life i want to be a marijuana plant haha.

she is beautiful!!!!!
i have used ductape before and electricians tape but i find it really really hard to remove and i have to remove it or else it will cut into the plant as it grows. I have used yarn in the past with good results. My plant split down the middle and i tied her back together and she did fine. Shes my flowering girl right now.

i just got some stretchy tape like stuff from canadian tire yesterday, i have yet to use it but it looks really good to use for broken stems etc, its green too!,

Think internet for Bonsai supplies. I bought stuff from an ebay seller: Joes Bonsai. He's reliable and with good prices. Actually, there are lots of cool little plant tools, oriental scissors and whatnot that I bought from him.
