I'm still with my 2016 Specialized Stumpjumper.. and yeah, they're freakn expensive. Bang for your buck mountain bikes (if there is such a thing anymore) are your direct to consumer types.. Canyon, Propain, YT Industries, Commencal, and Fezzari a few of the popular ones.
ps, Specialized is now in the Direct to Consumer market.

I had a hardtail stumpjumper way back in the day.
Have had quite a few specialized mb’s actually. Lost my daughters hard rock to the fire.
I just don’t know any of the new names out there. Or which ones are still good. Like GT. They sold out. Their bikes suck now, shitty series components etc. Like i said santa cruz is just more than i want to spend this time but i wonna buy one soon.

You meant miles? Thought you were referring to the suspension. In Mountain biking It's not the miles in the ride...it's the ride in the miles that count.

Nope was referring to the amount of travel in the front fork. Bike that age with a a long travel fork on the front would ride like a chopper, older XC hardtails were designed around Rock shocks that had maybe 80 mill of travel but many first gen forks were less travel than that. Not to mention what they cost.

It came with a RockShox140mm, I upgraded the suspension to 150mm (plus the dampers on the 150 are also upgraded from the 140 I had on the bike, i tore up the 140 as you can imagine in Enduro type riding)) rear is 130mm, Just enough for what I do, and I'm ready to up all that on the next bike (hopefully sooner than later). The headtube angle wasn't steep to begin with (67.5) so the 150mm was an improvement for my wants and needs. Probably at a 66.5 and that's still considered steep from todays standards of 65 and lower.. (for us Enduro riders)

Nice Bronson, my wife rides a SC 5010 and I ride a RM Thunderbolt Both awesome capable trail/play bikes. Guessing you didn't buy the 89 Bianchi Griz new if it came with a 140mm fork. How do you like the Bronson? Those are 150mm front and rear aren't they?

I've got a Felt Verza Speed 30. I probably put more road miles on it than anything, but I do some gravel as well. Excellent bike.
