I got a ridiculous deal on the Raptor 8 i couldnt turn down. Brand new never used was just hung in the store as the floor model. I got the hood and a 1000w bulb for $135 because they were being discontinued.
Should work great!

I will have both fans and carbon filter mounted outside of the tent on the wall next to it. Im trying to keep as much outta the tent as possible. Ideally just 4-13gal plant sites, humidifier, and fans is all i want in the tent.
Just noticed this. You should hang you carbon filter INSIDE the tent, even if the fan is outside,.

Ok. Idk what im looking at for interior heat yet as im still waiting for my ballast to come in. Im hoping to avoid an AC as i have no windows in the side of the basement ill be utilizing. It sits low 60's year round so im hoping just the inline fans can keep me where i need to be.
You’ll probably be ok man mine is in a rooM that’s about 70 because of my veg areas

The hood takes up way to much space to get filter inside the tent. Any reason why? Id imagine to avoid pulling all the shit in the air thru the fan?

Because you want to contain the odors to your tent, and have fresh, filtered air exiting the tent.

Inside the tent is where you should have it. It should be mounted as high as possible. How much room is your hood taking up, to where you don't have any space left. Post some pics and let's see if we can come up with a solution.

If your hood is too big, you can run into cooling issues, as the air might be constricted from making it to one of the top ports, where you should be exhausting the air.

If smell is the only reason then that's not an issue for me. Only reason I'm even filtering is in an occasion I have guests i may not want to know whats up. Other than that scenario smell wouldn't matter. Im from Massachusetts so not really worried about the boys in blue. Its not for those kinda stealth purposes.

Looks like you've got room enough to hang one horizontally, at the top, behind the hood. That's generally where they're mounted. Even in a state where it's legal, the smell can really overwhelm your house.

Having the filter outside of the tent probably won't work very well, unless the room is totally sealed.

Note that if the filter is outside of the tent, then all the dirty air will be forced through the hood before filtration, and that makes the glass and bulb dirty really quickly.
