i dont have problems with squirrels at all, i feed them corn, and other scraps from my fridge or whatever that is suitable to them, they leaver the bird feed alone
i wish, i apparently have lazy squirrels, they empty their feeder out, and then run the birds off so they can try to steal their food too.
i was feeding them regularly, too, they shouldn't have been hungry, they were just greedy.

I've had some that would eat peanuts out of my hand and follow me around while working in the yard. I like having them around so I reluctantly share my strawberries with them. They help make my backyard my own little nature park in the middle of the city. It's nice to be able to just sit and watch the squirrels, birds, dragonfly's, etc... just doing their thing.

i think technically we "rent' ours from waste management so it would pay off eventually
You sure you rent it? We had Waste Management for years. I thought we paid for the service and that they provide the can. If you want an extra can you can pay more though. At least that's what I thought.

Ordered one but it was dropped in shipping and cover was jammed and I had to pry it off which left marks. They sent me another for free.
$75 but ended up 2/$75!
Just still like new.
Cover screws on heavy ABS type plastic
our local hardware sells a bear proof one but it's no way near that cheap. i'll have to check out that brand.
