Nice man! Very Apollo 13 dominant for sure.
I’ve got a couple packs of Vortex and 3D left… when I it’s time to run them I may run them with my Apollo 13 (Gorilla arm) x Apollo 11 (Genius dom) to further the Apollo traits in the line.
More than anything I’m missing The Flav. I was an early tester for Sub at BreedBay and this was one of the lines I tested. Didn’t make F2s as it was before it was released but did outcross him to a killer old Satori mom I had. The resulting cross is still one of my all time favorites.

I gotta agree with you on the FLav. I'm hunting for the real flav F4 now because it was the First subcool strain I ever grew and it was what got me off DNA, Greenhouse, Barnies Farm and all the other that didn't meet that quality.
You wanna part with those Vortex?
I dont' blame you if you don't, its the greatest strain on earth. Me and my friends are doing a preservation project on the Vortex to ensure its around in the future in an F4 version which holds the traits WE love. Wont have as many phenos but every pheno will be what we love best in Vortex. Seroiusly tho run them with your Apollo 13 and see what you can make! If I find the Flav i'll let you know. Apollo 13 is so amazing. Best of luck!!!! You have fantastic taste

Man you are incredibly lucky to have those A13 gorilla arm x A11 genius If I had those I’d definitely make a cross with them or F2 them no doubt !
But the Flav was awesome in its own right.. @Swamp Thing
I miss the old days pre-fire TGA strains were so good I’ve never had any of Subs gear that I didn’t fall in love with…

Hey tardis do you still have more beans from the vortex preservation project? I’ve grabbed 2 packs of genetic supply but wanna do a good size hunt. Vortex is the best strain ever created. I'm afraid that the F2's are all gone and have been for a bit. I do have another line of Vortex but i'm not sure if I want to release them because they are so divergent from Vortex itself. Rotten smelling, super frosty, same intense high but its more in the body than the head than regular vortex. Less Mango in this but it is there, more rotten funk. A shorter more indica looking version of Vortex. If you want some of those I can sen dyou some but because they arent' really what I look for in Vortex I wouldn't want to get your hopes up. It will be cool, but it wont be what you're expecting.
That being said. In the works right now I have somethign VERY special. I was lucky enough to receive some Apollo 13 seeds from the saint of cannabis, Duke Diamond. Not subcools Apollo 13 BX, actual Apollo 13 seeds.... They were old, I planted 12 and 8 sprouted. Those 8 are in veg right now and from them I will select the best male and female and I will make F2's. But along side them I got a pack of seeds from Joel at Norstar Genetics through an auction that Subcool gave to Joel in 2010. Its a pack of mixed up seeds of Jack The Ripper, Vortex, Space Queen F2. I am growing 4 of them. I'm going to kill the males from that subcool run (because I wont know what they are like I will the females) and i'm going to impregenate that JTR/Vortex/SQF2 with seeds from all the Apollo 13 F1 Males. Those wont be sold those will be in my personal collection. I'd be happy to send you some of those as well when the time comes. You were the first to ask so you are the only one i'm doing this for. Also I feel guilty because I looked andd saw you poste this a month ago and I didnt' respond. So I figure you deserve to recieve some of these seeds if you want them.

I found a pheno that tastes and smells kinda hazy and a sweet earthy one.
But sadly nothing to special.

No, the first time I grew RB was in 2012. Like a dummy, my keeper was the purple one but she wasn’t as potent as the others. Wish I would have kept one of the others. Various pics from back then.

So, for the past few weeks I’ve been listening to Joe Pietri, the life he lived but most importantly his veg and flower cycles. I was hesitant on the veg cycle but I took the plunge 8 days ago. Like Joe says “there’s no such thing as marijuana botany….there’s only botany!”

Plants grown straight up, not topped. Not getting long and lanky, no pre flowers anywhere and vegging fast! He said your plants will get more bushy with this light cycle and I can already see it. I’ve grown this plant uncountable times not topped(18/6) I’m more than happy with what I see at this point.
Once they get to the height I want, their new bud cycle will be 8 on, 16 off. + In a few days I’ll be putting a PlushBerry and Vortex in the new bud cycle.
Took the Garlic Bud outside for some mornings sunshine pics…..to be continued.

That’s some pretty interesting stuff.
I try to stay as informed as possible but I can’t say I’ve ever heard of Joe Pietri or this style of lighting schedule.
I’ve been watching you in this thread for years and have seen your excellent results.
If you say it’s working for you then I believe it.
I’m very tempted to switch my current grows to these schedules and see what happens.
Wait, I’d have to throw out my analog timers and buy all new digital ones, shit.

So, under my new 12/1 veg cycle….my Vester’s Garlic Bud 98 is kicking butt! The clones were transplanted 15 or 16 days ago, not topped. The side branches are catching up to the terminal branch, just like Joe said, they get bushy and staying in veg. That’s 13 hours of light a day and they’re growing just as fast, easily, if not faster than 18/6! Taken outside for some sunshine for pics.
