guys does anybody have data on the epistar 660nm red they use on these boards? I mean they are red and therefore you can think they will raise overall umol/J and not bring it down, right? they are always gonna produce more umol/J than the 281s or 301s that are built on the board? If not how stupid would that be.

I think the standard is 5000K chips to gain lm/w and reds to bring the color temp down

2. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Kingbrite-600W-Samsung-Lm301H-LM301B-with_62448871370.html

#1 is 650W with 301H "Full spectrum" and an "Inventronics" driver + shipping
281B - 345
301H- 440

#2 is 600W with 301H "3500K" and a "MW" driver + shipping
301H - 440

The funny thing is, 650W is the same price as the 600W one. The 650W one was recommended, but I'm not sure which one is a better choice in terms of other components like the driver or heatsink.

Also, what does "Full spectrum" mean? I want 3500K lights.

Meijiu

F8 650W with 281B
256.99usd+shipping

Also, Meijiu is offering to sell F8 with 281B diodes for 256USD. When I searched for info, the main diff. between 301B/H and 281B is that 301B/H is more efficient with its power usage? But the light with 281B is almost half the price. How much more fficient is the 301B/H than the 281B?

Thank you so much !

281b are way less efficient vs 301, its like 165lm/w vs 220lm/w

What current are you talking about? What rank, what bin? very inaccurate answer. There are LM281B+ top ranks that make 200 lumen/watt and there are 301s that dont. On average they are obviously more efficient, but without knowing what rank and voltage bin you cant know.

And that exhausting 165 vs 220 BS is simply not true. Is it so difficult to read the complete sentence? 220 lumen AT 65 MILLIAMPS. 165 lumen AT 150 MILLIAMPS.

And thats why there are still lamps out there with LM281Bs that are more efficient than some not-so-good lights with LM301B.

Overall less efficient bud. Yeah sure if we compare the 281 at 2 milliamps and the 301 at 900 milliamps the 281 will be more efficient lol. There's a reason why all the lowest price Chinese sellers advertising Samsung diodes are using lm281b diodes..

Youre playing stupid now. Im obviously talking comparing at same current. Because it was you comparing at different currents, not me. Make that clear please. You postet these numbers, 165 vs 220, while you should actually now that these numbers are taken at different currents, 65ma vs 150ma. You should know...if you only put some minor effort and attention into it.

Why would you compare different bins? Fact is if you are comparing like bins, 301's are substantially more efficient.

why would you do that? Well maybe in a case like above, when a sellers offers you a Version with 281Bs for much less, its very helpful to know what bin it is. You might end up getting LM301 thats not really that much brighter.

Do you know of any sellers who can guarantee top bin 281B's?

you dont really get the point, do you? Im not trying to convince people that the LM281B+ is overall better...its very obviously the older generation. But its not 165 vs 220, its far from that and a light with 301 is not automatically better. If youre on a budget, you can use 2-3 times more diodes/boards and build a better lamp with Lm281s. If money is not a problem you obviously go with the HLG boards.
