The fishing thread ( not about fish fertilizer)

Been going through some health issues. Been in a lot of pain. The most pain is not being able to get out fishing. It's killing me. Those last pics I went down and fished despite my issues but I almost passed out from the pain. Not a great idea.....but it's what us fishermen do....lol. No brain no pain. That's what I always say.
Hopefully I'll be healed up soon and I can get back on the water asap
I'm sure I'll go out before I'm should.... Can't keep a man away from his rod for too long or things can get hostile!
Of coarse it happened to me when I'm on a 2 week Vaca from work. Somehow these things always happen when we are looking forward to a break. Fml

Wishing you the absolute best. I know how it can get when your body breaks for a bit and it stops you from doing the things you love most.

Damn I’m in a similar situation, two weeks off work and sick as a dog ( reaction to a new medication, arthritis meds made my copd go nuts , coughing so hard I can’t stand up with out passing out ). The weather is shitty but it actually makes for great crappie fishing, big slabs when it’s cold and lots of water in the river.

Feeling your pain brother. Hope u get better soon. We will both be back putting the fear back in the fish in no time. Being away from the water hurts almost as bad as the pain. I know. On the plus side I bought a new shotgun today :) oh and proposed to the old lady.... Bout time been about 20yrs. Lol

That sux you guys so hope you're both all healed up and ready to hit the water ASAP!

You guys are making me so damn homesick tho with all those great fish. You too @nl5xsk1 with those beauties. Screw ya all!!!! lol

I got an ex gf in Savona, BC where the climate is desert like and very dry which my lungs love. I'd love the coast but couldn't stand the constant rain, It's only 5 min from Kamloops Lake with it's legendary rainbow trout which are actually land-locked steelhead from the ice age. She can have another trailer on her property so that's an option. She has a long term partner I've met so I'll have to look elsewhere for female companionship. :)

If my mom passed my sister would probably rent me her room cheap in Chilliwack just a 5 min bike ride to the Chilliwack river about 200yds downstream of the Vedder Crossing bridge. Not my favourite spot but if the fish are in they'll be there too. Really crowded on weekends etc so better to jump in the car and head up into the mountains. I know spots. :)

We have to go to Edmonton in a couple of weeks for the wife to see a specialist. They're talking brain surgery for something to do with her pituitary gland. An endocrinologist I think it is. Just got my lab results last week and all systems are go with way lower cholesterol and my PSA went down again by 0.4 Was 16.9 Nov/22, 15.3 Mar/23 and 14.9 now. No way the PSA goes down if you got cancer. My buddy's was over 80 when he finally went in and got it tested for the first time in 10 years or so. Lasted about 2 years.

Went outside today to try out the 5wt rod with the half weight extra 5wt line on one of the Hardy reels I got and it loads just perfect. Was laying out 50ft of line even with my shitty double-haul. Has a 15' leader on it too I tied a tuft of wool to. Should work like a hot damn on the trout.

Still no sign of my rod blanks so phoning tomorrow to see if I can get a long grip/reel seat for the 13' baitcaster blank sent with the blanks. Only 4" of the butt goes into the top so adds over a foot to the 13' rod. Carbon composite all black but I'll make a custom cork foregrip as you have to buy that separate depending on what length you want. Going to wrap the guides on spiral wrap style. Watched a load test video of the same blank and it maxed out the testing machine and didn't break. 32.2 lbs pull on it. That's a tough rod.

Anyway hope the holidays were good to all you and yours and the New Year is better than ever!

Once was fishing with brother and his friend nearby small river, water was low, just went to wet a line with a sixer. They bet me I couldnt swim across the river. Hah! I was half way across and felt for the bottom. Stood up to about dick high. "You guys know you're fishing in maybe 3ft of water right?" clay river full of rough fish and deadfall. Shit fish!
