The fishing thread ( not about fish fertilizer)

Rainbow. The picture doesn't do them justice. Lots of pink and gold that it didn't pick up.
Def not rainbows but beautiful trout fo sho. Guessing brook

Over here we have rainbows and their sea going brothers and sisters. Same strain with an asterix.

Yes, i forget who it was who i was arguing this with but there are different sub species of rainbow trout. Those pics you showed def are not though.
We have for example eagle lake rainbows. 100% rainbow trout but different from your average rainbow

anadromous rainbow trout ARE steelhead as defined by fish and game here and when the hatcheries release those little fishes you can tell they were steelhead brood PERIOD. (@raratt they look more like the other strain in Shasta, the pit strain. i forgot who the hell was i arguing this about before? Can’t remember

Was it @raratt who informed me they stocked eagle lake bows in my lake here? They usually stock extra chinook but they been running low. Gonna be interesting this summer. This lake doesn’t really support every type of salmonid because of the bait fish. Shasta and Berryessa yes. They got threadfin shad as primary bait fish. Lake Oroville doesnt

@raratt
Shasta Kings are back.
Kokanee back.
Bows, and browns on fire of course. Why the fuck did i move even further away.
You can catch 5 bows(oor mix bag browns) AND 5 of the other salmonid(salmon kokanee or kings) in there per license.

*verified by a guide who works with my brother and also takes the band Primus out to fish regularly
