The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

I know that this is old but it pissed me off. With the drying method they used, it basically ruined any useful test data for a grower who is trying to cure properly. A tobacco grower would say WTF.

Quote on sample prep:

The plant material used in the study was grown at the University of Mississippi medicinal plant garden. Mature plants were harvested and dried in a drying barn. The temperature was set initially at 50o C and was then increased at 2.5o C per hour until 70o C was reached. Under those conditions, dryness was complete within 6-8 hours. The dried materials were then coarsely manicured, packed in closed barrels and stored in an air-conditioned vault.

At this point fresh material had been reduced to dried out bacon. (70C=158F)
lol good reason not to believe every thing on the net even if its supposedly from a gov. Source.
Im presuming that drying method was used to give the few federal exemptees weed, have u seen pics of it, I've seen better schwag, lol, the labels on the cans say it was grown and rolled into joints like 10-15 years previous :), no wonder that dude with glaucoma has to smoke 10 plus joints a day, its prob like ~1% THC!

the more I think, that's prob a typo and meant to be F not C!

Well, just made it through the entire thread. Holy Shit, wish I started following the thread sooner, but all caught up now. Big Thanks to Sub,Frenchy,TC and everyone else that has contributed here. Great thread with tons of good information that will/has helped many people I'm sure. Frenchy, I plan on trying your method soon, but my ladies are only a couple weeks into flower at the moment. Will post my results along with some pics after I get er all done. Very inspirational and Sub did a wonderful thing for us all by giving Frenchy the opportunity to do what he has done here. Frenchy, you make a very good teacher. Eww Laa Laa !

I actually totally forgot about my order, thought about it yesterday when I was working on some Pinot, I would love to see what I have in the 160 with a 190 as a catch bag.
i will call her later this morning and I cannot but sweet talk beautiful women, in French it is called "being in tune with beauty", an art form in itself

Well i want to start out by saying thank you to Frenchy, the information you have provided has improved my hash making skills 10 fold. This morning i was watching your Hash Project videos and was immediately taking notes. Now i dont have a washer yet!! but i did use a hand mixer on low speed, worked great cause i only work with small amounts of material usually about 15-20g of frosty Jack the Ripper trim. So enjoy the pics the hash is still slightly wet but drying to a nice amber color. Thank you again. The first pic is JTR that i work with, 2nd and 3rd are 73 micron and 4th is the 45 micron last is my tray with the cooking hash 25 micron

Hey Friendly420, nice job especially the first 73, so golden....
I did not insist enough I think on the importance of rinsing in the bag with a powerful shower type spray. It has the potential of a second cleaning and would bring the quality up.

Hey frenchy this look ok?? It's after first press, just playin by ear on first attempt feel free to critisize want to make sure I'm doin it right. I let this plant go a little too long so figured the trims would be a good trial run for me.

It looks much better than OK and a small amount like that may need only one press if the nose came out you are good to cure

I think next time I will wash twice this was my fast time usin this method. Cant wait till next harvest so I can do it even better. You the man frenchy

Glad I found roll it up to be honest. So much useful info. The people in the grow section are helpful (I put that project on the back burners until I have more cash) and respond pretty quickly. Matt Rize's thread is full of useful information. And Then I find this thread and Im like 'can it get any better?". I really appreciate the passion everyone has here.

Anyways Frenchie Ill have to pick up some of your stuff from CBCB. Ive been meaning to check that place out anyways. Do you have any there right now?

Oh and thanks for all this man. Come harvest time I am going to have some product from a few grower friends to play around with. Never done IWE before but I pretty much have everything (supplies, machine, spot to do it, etc...) to complete some runs. Ill be using things Ive learned in both this thread and Matt's.

More specifically, Ill be using the pressing method that you use for sure. I had some "Ice Wax" from Harborside Health Center. It was kinda darker, hard, little smell so I said what the heck Ill try pressing it with my hands (did it for about 15 minutes). To my surprise it seemed to improve the product. It went from a darker almost black brown to a nice carmel brown. From a solid to a more "tootsie roll" texture. The aroma it produced....wow it was so much stronger. Made my nose tingle. Also seemed to burn much better on my nail. Much happier with the way it turned out.

Ill probably have a few questions in the future and Ill be sure to share my hash

Hey BayBuds, CBCB is always stocked with my Cannoli, they are first on my list.
Hand press will show you the quality of Ice Wax/Kief like nothing else. If the heat of your hands does not melt the resin glands together it is not good enough.
Any question, any time, we just want your feedback and pictures for the knowledge.
