Shipping containers almost eliminated theft and damage to goods with a sealed container from shipper to final customer sized for most common loads. Sometimes just inventing a new way of doing things makes a bigger difference than a new invention and this guy didn't invent the box as much as the concept and system.

How it filters does seem to be an emergent issue. Human opportunists tend to filter responses more by “how do I think it will be received” than by “is it right”. Why a machine would do something analogous to a possibly sociopathic procedure merits a hard look imo. I think there are some groundbreaking directions in psychological research coming to light here. It seems oddly easy to create Artificial Jerks.

Yesterday a Falcon launched out of Vandenberg at late dusk. The second stage climbed into sunlight. Pics are at their best in a dark place with the background set to black.
Bright dot on right is Spica (alpha Virginis).
A pretty nice vid from somewhere to my south. You can see stage 1 in ballistic flight in the “tail” of stage 2 after MECO/ stage sep, and they follow stage 2 into shadow.

One time I voted Conservative - (silly single issue vote) to eliminate photo radar in Ontario.
The use of photo radar was discontinued in 1994. The Highway Traffic Act granted permission to use automated speed enforcement in community safety and school zones. Therefore, it's still permissible by law. I'm ok with it. Unless I'm on my Vulcan Nomad, my speed is like slowpoke Rodriguez.
