Btw, although i’m not interested in breeding plants, i am very interested in tissue culturing them. I hope to do some initial work this summer, after i get a little time to rebuild my cleanroom.

I’ll post when i have something to show.
I've been wondering about that as a possible way to exchange things "safely"... Looking forward to your posts :clap:

Google “tissueponics” to see vids on technique...

This is basically in vitro cloning, where you take a cutting, and keep it alive in a tube, then root it out in a plug... it skips the in vitro replication and rooting steps.

I’ll start here to work on my lab technique, but i can already do this in a shorter time period using an aerocloner in a “dirty” environment - so no real advantage.

I really want to quickly progress to learning the in vitro replication and rooting steps, where you can take a plant tip and turn it into multiple rooted miniature (3/4”) plants...

We’ll see....

Today i took off the cloner lid for the first lime since the cuttings went in. I noticed something weird:

Somehow this cutting’s stem never made it fully into the cloner....lol

It’s in there now...

Whenever you see a temp or rh% in pics of this grow, do not assume they represent the actual ievels.

One of the reasons this may happen, is that the tent door(s) is open/humidity dome is removed. Both are the case in the pic above. But, when i first open the tent the airtemp and rh inside the dome is 75-77F and 70-75%.

Can also be due to an inaccurate meter...the humidity meters seem to get outta whack faster than the temp meters...

i use multiple temp/humidity meters in each tent, and many times pay less attention to the actual level of the readings and more to sudden changes in the readings....

Gonna be trying out some nitrogen-fixing bacteria (Azos brand - Azospirillum brasilense)
and some endo-mycorrhizae (Mykos brand - Rhizophagus intraradices).

I’ll add both to my cloner, now that root initiation is about to begin, and periodically add to my buckets throughout the grow.

The overall goals will be increased root development, healthier plants, microbe control (especially wrt damping off).
