Went away for the weekend. Indeed I suspected that something was growing in my rez GoLdD. My ph was dropping ever so slightly. So i used this. My buddy is a professional hydro grower here in canada and he recommended it. It worked very well. No more drop after 24hrs of using it. Completley natural cleaner foams up and boom no problems. He and his growing company swear by it.
Anyway plant is still thriving the netting is working well its a daily tuck.
Question, when do you guys trim some growth? I read cutting off the first 2 nodes would be beneficial do you guys agree?

I top at the second node once I've hit 6 nodes to get 4 main colas instead of 1, it's called uncle ben's topping method, but that was early in veg. I flipped the lights today, so I also started doing a little defoliation, I'll keep doing a little every day until the end of week 3. Taking out fan leaves that are covering bud sites and taking out everything that won't make it above the screen, and removing enough above the screen to get good air flow and light penetration to all bud sites. You could probably lose the whole bottom 1/4, like immediately, it's only gonna take energy away from growth up top.

I think you missed your training window in regards to topping, now you just gotta stay on top of scrog training and hopefully you get enough of a stretch to spread her out and maximize your screen.
I dig your screen, mine is 9 years old and I need to replace it, I'm going to make a new 1 tomorrow using yours as inspiration. What size pvc is that? And what's the foam taped underneath it for? It looks like 3 inch squares, yes?

2 1/2 squares. 3/4 inch pvc. The foam is for the screws poking through. I was changing the rez and got a nasty scratch from it lol. So i used the foam. I did top her once earlier but i totally forgot to do it again. So ill just spread her out. JZS said to just let her grow to 75% ish of the screen so im going to let her veg for a bit. Did a rez change today. The plant is eating a ton. Like 300ppm in 3 days. So i upped the nutrients to 400 ppm. I was feeding her between 320 and 300 before. Ph is dropping still. Was at 5.1. So i decided to look at the roots one last time.
Lots of brown but it doesnt stink and they arnt slimy. So i was scared to give it a full tratment of the cleaner last time. This time its happening. 3 days of it. I might pick it up again and look in 3 days time to see. Also i might plop her on a bucket and let it bubble for a couple of days. I cant tell if this is flora stain or root issues but judging from the ph, its root issue. Im also finding

What's the water and bottom of the res look like? That sediment you see might not be from the hydroton, but decaying root material. I had some pythium early on in my current grow and it left a brown grainy film on the bottom of my res, with slightly brown twisted roots. I blasted it with h020 for a few days and been using roots excelurator with every new res change, and cleaning my res once a week, and it seems to be gone now.

Damn it i didnt look closely enough. I will definitely take a look in 3 days now and see. Im going to add h202 to the rez i think if it doesnt clear up. That enzymes komplete should do the job

Been a while. Plant looks good but it split in the middle from my buddy tucking. Looks healed now i will post a pic later but damn near split the main stalk all the way. Thankfully it didnt. Im going to tie it together even though it has healed. Doesnt look like any stress and is still growing fast.
Canopy is almost filled the screen but because of the split i probably wont do much more.
Ive put the ppm to 500 i feel like i should do more. Someone want to confirm what i should be at this point? Ill slowly work my way there. I just dont want to make past mistakes. Oh one more thing. Totally cleaned my roots up unfortunately i couldnt take a pic cause it was akward and the roots take up half my rez but they are sparkling white and no brown with no more ph flux. Highly recommend.

Here is the split. I tried to push it back together but its hard as a rock. It happened probs 10 days ago. Should i cover it? If so with what?

Looking good, to answer your question about your nute ppms; water goes down ppm's go up = too much nutes - water goes down ppm goes down = not enough nutes - water goes down ppm's stay the same = goldilocks aka just right.
Use duct tape on your open wound, next time don't let it heal like that, tape it up right away so it can heal.
You've got a week +\- or so left of stretch stop weaving and let it grow towards the light, I stop weaving after the first week of stretch, you gotta let her stretch toward the light.

That's what your plant should look like under the screen, anything you leave under the screen will only take energy away from the bud sites above the screen that are getting enough light to fully mature. So unless your scrogging for larf and popcorn buds, you need to clean up your under carriage
