Think Different 1 Gallon: Topped+LST

I use 2g air pots with coco. Train them, well yes and no, for the most part I just let them go. But I do like to stake them out, to open up the center for the first 4 weeks. Then once stretch has slowed, I crush break bend what ever I have to do to the stems to try and even the canopy. TD respond well to LST topping and MILD pruning of fan leafs. How many colas??? Hard question, I mean I dont shoot for a set number I let the plant decide. I get on avg 8-12 colas that range from 16-30g. I yet to grow 1 TD that was under 100g. I hit 1.2g/watt and Im not even dialed in on them yet. I think dialed in with 4 plants in a scrog with a 600 hps I could hit 1.5/watt easy.

I do love how you started your lst, I actually used your method on my seedling today. Hope it will open my girls up from the get go.

Thing about autos is they Veg and Flower at the same time so they dont stop their growth towards the light, until about 10 weeks.
That's killer for 2 gallon pots. How long did it take you from seed - harvest? (On a plant that was topped)

Awesome! Let me know how it works for your seedling. Which strain is it? I think topping early is a safer bet with autos seeing how this one is already putting out a couple pistils here and there.

Did the topping/training increase your yields?

I can only dry so much at a time, so my first one was chopped a 12 weeks my last at 14 weeks. Those extra 2 week I feel put on around 60g. Ya after day 21 no topping for me. But this is all strain depended.
I think training helps big time with TD. But bad part is my first runs of TD I didnt train or top and avg 100g. My next run avg around 150g light lst. Now I'm at 200avg with method described above. My pt is I'm getting more dialed in so I cant really say 100% the training I do now improves or not. But i can say TD respond great to lst scrog and such and I believe that would greatly increase your yield.
I would like to state I do use coco and feed 5 times a day . In soil I would have no idea what to expect for yield.

Chemdawg is what Im running right now (photo no auto)

So far it looks like an early topping didn't slow this girl down much at all. Yield shall tell all :P

She will be moved to a 240w (advertised) l.e.d. light in about a week for the rest of her life. There are potentially 29 tops on this plant so far if it stop vegging past the third node on each of the 4 main branches. Hopefully all of the potential tops grow fast enough to be able to become a nice cola during flowering!

The led's should give some rock hard buds right?

Thanks guys!

It is as of today, being grown like this under a new "240 watt " led. Should be ACTUALLY putting out about 130W give or take. 3w diodes
Switched just in time for the autoflowering.

(Focused on lights)

Another round of some aggressive lst.

Bent some of the first set of new tops so they might each turn into 3 if one node and the top all become tops. Might not. Depends on timing of flowering . Also tucked a bunch of leaves. It lets them still work for the plant, without takingthem completely off or hurting the lpant in any way. They are scrunched and upside down sometimes so they don't get AS uch light, but they are still there. The two biggest leaves are actually the first 3 bladed leaves that grew on this plant. Aside from a small copper spot on each they are perfectly healthy looking still.

The junction (should look awesome when all the leaves and buds are stripped off)

I didn't see anywhere, did you say what your light schedule was?
I love the look of this. I was into bonsai before growing cannabis, so I totally appreciate the look here!

Thanks! The photoperiod is 18/6. Forgot to mention that earlier. So far the led seems to be doing great. Plus the plant looks purple unless oyu move it from under the led's hahaha

My opinion is you shouldn't have topped it, instead you could have just tied the main stem down this will cause far less stress but with the same results. Here are 2 automazars untouched 73 days from seed

Good question. My guess would be GO FOR IT. What could it hurt.
Will do!

Just thought it'd make an interesting project seeing as the world record automazar was topped. But yea pure lst IS great for autos. Gonna compare results/timing and see which is more productive in terms of grams/days (from being planted because they are autos and the delayed flowering from training should be counted in the productiveness factor when discussing training IMO)

Poured the cs on the one branch twice so far since there are no spray bottles on hand atm. Hope it works. It's later than most people advise, but I don't see why it wouldn't if new calyxes and pistils are stil being formed.

Stop wasting your CS dude. Get a q-tip and rub it on there. I can't see why it wouldn't do the same thing. Real interested to see if it works. Can't see why it won't though.

Gonna pick up a spray bottle today cuz it has to last a couple plants at least lol. But same here. The buds are growing really fast now so it should show soon.
