thinking of pruning.......

Hey all. Got a bag seed (unknown strain) that seems to be VERY LEAFY. Do you think that the plant might benefit from some leaf pruning, yield wise? I have been scouring the net, and find mixed views on the topic across all the growing sites. So, I decided to post a pic and get some..... "personalized" opinions. She is 1 month&19days in 12/12(but showed sex 04-13-2010). Thanx in advance!:peace:

I wouldent do anything now m8 u probably have about 4 weeks left, not enough time for new growth to sprout and more buds to develop im afraid. u might just stress the plant a little unnecessarily

Id leave them. due to the fact that this is bag seed and you are not aware of the strain this thing could fatten up on you. Yeah she has a ton of leaves but that bud is forming in there. on a good side note you might be able to get some nice hash out of it.

Agreed! No pruning! The plant is PRETTY! You might wanna think about taking it a little easy on the N nute. Have you been using a higher P nute for flowering? Just because your leaves are SUPER dark green and that could mean just a little to much N, IMHO. Just throwing out some food for thought. Pretty looking plant though!

What source of light are you using? I have a buddy that typically uses a 1000 watt HPS for flowering, and a 1000 watt MH for veg, but for shits and giggles he tried running a batch through flowering with his MH and it ended up looking like an all together different plant. MUCH more leafy and green (very much looked like your pics) when using the MH for flowering.

Thanx for the plant compliments!
As far as nutes:
I've used MG bloom(I Know.... I know)15-30-15 for 1 feeding 3 weeks in 12/12 with AN Nirvana 0-0-1. Both half strength.
Then I've used the Nirvana again for 2 other waterings in the past 2 weeks along with FF Cha-ching 9-50-10 instead of the MG. (Researched experiences using Cha-Ching before recommended time, and all had great results).

Also had to transplant 4/21 in order to sidestep a possible rootbound issue, so it could be getting a little N from the soil. I'm assuming your response/answer would be to invest in a nute totally devoid of N?

Using CFL: x2 26w 2700k, x2 42w 2700k, x1 125w 2700/6500k, x1 105w 2700k

here's a pic of the closet setup from 4/25 w/ my White Rhino on left and this thread's plant on the right:

Nah bro, I was just curious because your plants are SUPER dark green! lol, that's all, and 90% of the time that's from a shit tone of N. lol, I have absolutely NO problem with the nutes your using! lol, Hell, I use MG All Purpose Plant Food for veg, and MG bloom booster for flower and I get fuckin great results! No other nutes besides molasses and epsom salt if needed. You just have to know how to use the fert that's all. I mean, really you don't even need the AN Nirvana or FF Cha-ching. If you have some free time run over to my journal in my sig and you can see my plants, using only MG nutes. I don't understand why they're hated so much, they're extremely in expensive and work WONDERS!.. I LOVE MG NUTES!

The only issue I've ever had with them is on my Strawberry Cough and it had a MG def which I fixed with the epsom salt. Then all was good. (That plant was kind of a bitch throught most the grow anyways, lol, well in comparison to me others)

Hmm, then maybe i shouldn't shrug off my healthy supply of MG nutes then. And didn't think you were criticizing, mate. No worries.
